I will be going on a long distance journey in my 2009 Cobalt LT. I didn't get the factory cruise control so I will be rigging up my own solution using a microcontroller.

I was hoping somebody can provide me with relevant technical information pertaining to the accelerator pedal as well as the circuitry in which it operates. Unfortunately, I do not have access to a factory service manual.

My understanding is that 2 potentiometers are mechanically coupled to the pedal and a analog signal of 0 - 5 volts is generated from the 2 corresponding to 0 - 100% pedal travel. Can somebody confirm this for me?
