I think you will get pretty similar airflow out of the two of them.

Its really about whether you want the oiled filter or not.

K&N filter is poor in filtering particulates, as compared to an AEM, which claims 99.4%
I had a K&N for my Caprice, and you could see through it. Thats not what a filter is supposed to do.
So i got a Wix for the Caprice, and an AEM for the Cobalt. Extremely pleased so far!

I'm pretty sure K&N claims 99% filtering particles too.......so you can throw the AEM number right out the window.

the AEM filter is stronger, you can crush it and it just comes back.

They may or may not, but i can see through my filter, and my neighbor has one on his Rustang, and you can see through it too.
If i can see through the filter, i take whatever numbers they're spewing, and the filter, throw it into the trash, and recommend every time, not to get one.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. It's been proven that the K&N oiled filter will make more power than a dryflow.

Go ahead and call up Matt at Tune Time Performance, he's a supporting vendor on here. He's tested it on different applications, oiled filters will always make more power. Period...

The oil on a K&N filter can actually help repel water too, if you get a dryflow make sure you get a hydroshield cause they can suck up water like a sponge.

doesn't K&N make AEM's filters? lol ..to me its just hat the AEM is easier to maintain and not have to worry about the oil ( i know you said its not a big deal but its just plain easier to clean when you need to clean it )
