For it to be a cool air intake, the piping would have to go down into the fender well with the filter below the headlight.

it is i thought it was the stock **** but when i got below the headlight and took off the box piece there was a blue pipe and an AEM intake.

I read up on how to wash it and you can wash it with just soap and water thats what they use except a "Special" soap

Thats what you get if you order the AEM CAI. It looks stock from the outside (dealer friendly)

I had one on my SC. Dryflow is great, just get an aquashield from Injen. Its a must, if it gets wet, you're car will bog and stutter etc. You may also want to look at fabbing a plastic sheild to deflect wated coming in from the wheel well right onto the MAF. The SC doesnt have a louver in the wheel whell to deflect any water from going directly in, pretty ***** design overall. I see AEM moved the MAF to the same location in the TC and for that reason I will not be buying it again. It gets too damp and wet up here in that position. Also make sure you're wheel well gets put back nice and snug and tight. I can't say enough how much this intake hates getting wet.

Is it just a short ram intake? I know you can convert the AEMs to SRI.

My car looked fine, seemed to be in good condition. Everything looked clean and in order, so I bought it.

About a week later I found the meth nozzle rigged into the bottom of the factory intake

Can't have an SRI on an SC.

I'm not sure if you can or not, but I think you might be able to use the K&N re-charge kits on the AEM dryflow filters. Instead of oil it. If you can't, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

**slaps self in the forehead**

DO NOT oil a DRY flow intake. They aren't made of the same material. You will suck oil across your MAF.

F-in' geniuses on this site.

Also, as said before. Although some haven't had problems with dryflow, it doesn't mean they are great.....those people are in the minority. The majority have had problems with water getting sucked across the MAF causing bogging.......they are ****.

Do what I did. Keep the piping from AEM. Get a K&N filter and call it a day. I haven't had a problem since. It's simple science. Water beads off of oil. I haven't bogged since I've switched and mine used to bog even if it spritzed a little.

Dude, the colder the better...... "Cold" air intake... think about it

DO NOT OIL THIS. Take it off and wash it CAREFULLY with baby shampoo or a non abrasive ... let it air dry....

TIP, go to the hardware store and get an 4" tin register vent. Taper it and pop the intake on the end. Take you're register cover off and place this register in the hole with the intake popping up (IF YOU HAVE CLEAN VENTS). Easy way to dry it out. You can also use a hair dryer but adding that much head so close isnt good for the fibre, as it will expand it. Also you cant dry in the crevaces that good. Can you tell I have been to hell and back with that intake.... NEVER AGAIN. Just dont buy this without a aqua shield

Ahh, you guys get the great prarie weather... that's way too cold to be running anything outside to be honest , however I never had any problems with mine when it came to being cold at all and I monitored things pretty good... My SC may have seen a couple -25 days and maybe a -30, no probs getting to work and back. But when it got wet out... have fun..
