Aftermarket Headlights

How are the quality of the aftermarket headlights?

I'm looking specifically at the ones with the halo design and whatnot...have mainly looked at Ebay for now. How is the light output quality? Better or worse than stock? How is the quality of the lens, and the longevity of the assembly?

Thanks.

My third gen projectors have been running fine since I installed them. So has the HID kit I bought, both from eBay. No quality issues here, but I guess it's hit and miss with these things.

I have 2nd gen's for 1 1/2 years from eBay and no problems. The most popular ones are the first gens. I like those too but the led in the halo isn't that bright. Hence I picked 2nd gens. LOL

Oh yeah and one more thing. Pick black over chrome

Exactly. It's very hit or miss. I have an eBay set of OEM blackouts as well as a set of eBay HID's.. Both have seemed to've held up very well so far.. But I've heard issues before.. My friend has eBay lights on his Civic and they're all cloudy.. Do at your own risk.. Not to mention the fact that most of the projectors for our cars look horrid..

i have 1st gen. halos and LEDs work fine, right side headlight burnt on me twice in 6 months. dont think its the wiring. from what i've read, the aftermarket H1 bulbs are crap, no matter what brand. my neighbor has a chevy truck with HIDs. She has gone through 2 lights quickly as well. the after market projectors are all made from the same companys, stamped the same way. the only difference is the distributor. find a distributor that will give you a warranty if possible. other than that, hit or miss

I'm gonna do the new audi r8 style headlights with the LEDs on the bottom. If it doesn't come out good than I still got my ccfl projectors. So I can't lose by trying. LOL

BITCHIN!!! i was thinking that someone should be doin that. they look so good, saw an A5 earlier today with them. those F-er's are bright, even during the day. Pics please, even if it doesnt work out... maybe have Cobalt addiction or some other sight get a whiff of this and start one for the general public, although it would lose the cool factor if everyone started doing it.

Yeah. Sounds like a good idea. The hard part was picking out the right LEDs for it. But I think I got it right. Just waiting for them to come in the mail. I've seen other non-cobalt cars try it out but it doesn't look right

yeah i thought about doing that too somehow but there doesn't seem to be a ton of room to do all the LEDs. i also though about doing it on the first gens too but it would be alot of work and time i unfortunately dont have. but if you do it and it turns out nice i might be forced to try lol

Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet. I really feel like it's gonna work just like the rear lip on my car. It was never done(that I know of)and it worked out well
