Mine doesn't use alot of gas but it does suck ass. It doesn't have near the power my vehicles of the past had. With an aftermarket exhaust, you should be doing better on gas if anything, not worse. Change you're oil and clean you're air filter.

try switching using recirc only after the a/c has some time to cool things off it should help with gas a bit at least when I used it I still get 28mpg in the city.

Guh... I never use the AC unless it's really hot. Like over 95...
My milage sucks hardcore when I use it.
And the big one... my car just doesn't like to go. I've been driving stick just fine now for over a year, but if I run the AC I will usually stall it once a day because my RPMs just go all over when I try to go from a stop and it just stalls. grrrrr

Just screwing around with my new car - flat ground, cruise set to 25 mph in 4th gear. Instant read out shows 53 mpg without a/c, and 42 with. Of course, at higher speeds the difference isn't as pronounced.

AC doesn't seem to make a lot of difference in mileage at 60-70 MPH.... maybe its that windows up / down thing.. but on short trips under 45 MPH and lots of stop and go, mileage really suffers, 2-3 MPG LESS!

In city I never use it unless its one of those 90+ degree days with insane humidity.
On the highway however I always use it if it is warm enough out. Mileage is about the same. In town though it sucks.

Since I'm up here in Alberta, Canada, I'm kinda a wimp when it comes to high temps. Temps like 26ºc and up starts pushing my limit. I'll put the A/C on to cool things off but once that's done (15 minutes or so) I just turn off the A/C and leave the recirc on. If I'm doing less than 60 km/hr I'll roll down my window and turn the fan off.
