Air filter change?

I tried changing my air filter a while ago and when I put in the new one, It didn't sit right and I could close it. I searched and found a few post on this but neither had a solution. The filter I bought was FRAM and one end was closed. How do I get it to fit in? By the way, i have an SS\SC.

I have a short ram in now. Im guessing you have the stock air box? If so I know that K&N makes a filter that fits no problem. If you don't want to buy a new one then try to cut it down a little where the trim is. If that dose not work i would suggest getting a K&N filter

Does it feel like it seats in all the way . Just that little nub that sticks into the filter? Does the closed end have any indentation , or is it completely flat?

I bought a fram and it wouldn't fit also. The sides of the stock filter are angled, the fram goes straight up. I returned it and bought one from Chevy. That fit just fine.
