Almost bought a Supra instead of the SS/TC!

People please help me reasure myself that i didnt make a wrong decision by getting the SS/TC instead of the Supra single turbo. I mean i LOVE the SS/TC but theres always that though in the back of my head saying, you could have bought the supra for cheaper and its faster stock... i just wanna kick myself. but i really just wanted a bran new car so that i didnt run into issues like i did with my other used cars... wiring all messed up, front end damage that i had to get fixed cuz it was considered "unsafe to drive"... and theres others. so please please please help me reasure myself!

Well, at least you have peace of mind with the Cobalt.
And from what I understand, well kept Supra's are not only very hard to come by, but when you DO find one, they arent that cheap.

And unless you plan on making a Monster, I would say you made the right choice.
Particularly if this car is a daily driver.

Unless you have a mechanical background, I think you made the better choice. I love supras as much as the next guy, but I like the warranty as well with new cars.

your balt has warranty, powerful, piece of mind, its a sleeper, more refined, if something breaks GM will fix it (hopefully), and parts wont be hard to find or expensive.

keep your lnf, when u reach your midlife crisis, then go get the supra.

my 2 cents

Yeah thats true!!! and theyre almost getting 400 with the synapse kit too... thats not far off from the supra. and the TC hasnt even been out for a year. hopefully it will get alot more aftermarket support, and then ill feel alot better about not getting the supra!

Mistake. Cobalts are cookie cutter cars (yes, even your allmighty SC's and TC's) and seem to be put together by a 2 year old on drugs. That Supra is probably more reliable than the Cobalt even with 120,000 miles, oh and it's RWD

Definitely should have gone with the supra.. MKIV Supras around me go for $30,000 with 140,000+ miles. Unmolested ones are $45,000+

KBB for that year with most options and excellent condition is 19-20k. They were asking 14k? Musta been a black friday deal. But seriously, somethings not right with it. A modded car with 120,000 miles and cheap? I think you saved yourself a MAJOR headache. Those cars have their own religion. If someone wants to part cheap and you think you just passed on a deal. . well I'm here to help you.

Must sell buying house!
= I just blew another head gasket and I think I might have done a bit more damage this time.
Baby on the way= Im on my second tranny and I think this ones about to go.

Selling off ex's car= If we don't get rid of this moneypit, divorce papers will most certainly be in our future.

OP, your comparing apples to oranges. A bad/good decision depends on what it was you were going for.

If you wanted a good daily driven street "beast" that is still practical. Then yes, you made the right decision. It won't be the fastest car on the road. But it has good modding potential and it's FWD set up and good MPG lend it to practicallity.

If you wanted a good project car, wanted something unique to stand out, wanted to make high horsepower on a car with the potential to do it easily, and an aftermarket to do it...........then you should face-palm yourself because the Supra is as close to an exotic as you'll get for under 30grand. Not to mention the potential of pushing 6-900horsepower with not a whole lot invested.

Of course they can be replaced, but there have been problems with them being in stock.

You'll be happy with the balt. True Supras can be made MUCH faster but these really are fun little cheap cars. You can make 350whp with bolt ons and a tune no problem which is more than enough to beat up on 99% of the stuff on the road. Plus, no one expects a balt to be fast, everyone expects a Supra to be fast.
