August Sale on TWM Cobalt Short Shifters!

Hi guys,

I thought you'd be interested to know that we're having a sale on the Cobalt shifter this month, you can buy it for 154.95$ instead of 169.95$ and this includes an aluminum shift knob and free shipping! Check out the shifter and upgraded knob options here:

Also an FYI for those with the SS: The Cobalt SS has the reverse lockout feature, but we have had some customers install our short shifter in the SS by removing the reverse lockout. Most of them were glad to be rid of it.

The install manual can also be downloaded from this link if you scroll down the page and look for the "download manual" link if you'd like to get an idea of what's involved in installing the shifter.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Karel

That's strange? By reverse lockout we mean a plastic sleeve which you need to pull up on in order to shift the car into reverse. Your base model Cobalt has such a system? We've looked at a large number of non SS Cobalts and have yet to see one with reverse lock.

Um you would know if it did.

Do you have to pull up on a little sleeve under the shift knob to go into reverse?

Copycatter on price! Great way to get some competition going between vendors though. I read the install on your guys' shortshifter and it seemed pretty detailed. Sucks to have to do that much to put one in.

Question though: what does it mean when you guys say it takes a bit more muscle to shift with a short shifter? Does it cause you to miss gears?

The install really isn't very difficult, though the manual is long many of the steps are very quick and easy...

It's not so much that shifting will take more muscle, you'll find that the shifter feels much more direct and solid. Because you have slightly less leverage it will take some getting used to but the actual shifting motion will feel smoother.

There's no reason why you'd be any more likely to miss gears with a short shifter than with the stock shifter. We normally recommend that you go easy for the first day or two to get your hand-foot timing adjusted to the shorter throws but this is just to ensure smooth shifts, the gears are easy to find.
