Bandwagon Jumpers
+ rep gmfanatik for starting a good thread. The car is what it is and if you don't like it for whatever reason then that's why you can always just sell it. No need to bash something just because it doesnt do what you want it too. Next time do your research on the car before buying it lol.
TRUE THAT!! That's why I'm waiting for the 2nd model year of the new Camaro, that and what if they do like they did with the GTO's, the next year will have faster seats and more power. lol...
All i've got to say is that I love my cobalt for the power that it has for an all around good daily driver. I know i'm not going to throw enough money into it to run 12's in the 1/4 but thats fine with me.
also just for arguements sake, the reason they were talking about the redline is because someone said its hard to research a car in its first year. if you would have done some research you would have quickly found out that they are the same car.
WE have all seen the countless threads of people doing dumb **** and then selling there car. WHy are you all so upset that you cant hit 12's easily???? I love my car but its still a cobalt, a cheap economy car turned hot rod. Who buys a cobalt to run 12's anyway the car is a good mid 13 car and dd for alot of people. Face it gm slapped this car together, saab engine and tranny with a first gears purpose is for towing ****... 300hp block on everything that has to do with the motor... Its a good car to surprise people with but if you wanna run 12's cheap go by a cobra or a gto, NOt a 20k economy car. With that said I still love my car put 800 into it (stage1 w/ 2.85) and I have beatin cars twice as expensive as mine. Idc what people say I like my warranty, my 7 speaker sound system , the recaros , the sexy ass way the car looks, and the wtf look when that bitches wines down the street after you smoke somone
+rep or you man, I agree 100%. I'm not all about the timeslip, I am about th lap times though, but even then, my caris kick ass for my daily driver, and I still turn heads, even with a factory appearance outside, and in the interor(save the lowering). Besides, who else puts 280.00 Pirelli tires on at the factory? Pirelli is a damned fine tire, and overall, compared to the last POS I drove, my cobalt isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
lol... I beat a ferrari too, but that was because some 18 yr old kid was driving it, took of traction control, and almost took out a few other cars... lol... so I don't really count it a win..
but anyway, all my cars run 12 or under at some point in their short lives, so why should this one be allowed a different fate

I personally didn't by my Cobalt to try and hit 12's. I got it because its a fun car to drive, its pretty quick and I wanted something with a warranty. Now with that in mind its a damn hard car to beat. It will out run most other 20K "performance" cars. So far it has been very good to me other than the clutch issues and that damn plastic ring around the sunroof switch but all in all I'm quite happy with it.
I like modding it a bit but who doesn't? Stage 2 is a cheap way to net a good amount of grunt. The stage 3 pulley set me back a whole 100 bucks. I waste more than that on useless stuff on the weekends. I'm also planning to get the gmpp manifold and catback. As for trying to get in the 12's? No not with this car. I'm more than happy with it now. It is a fine daily driver, its quick, it looks good, and sounds sweet too. Now for all out speed the Nissan is being built for that , but with that its not going to have any of the creature comforts.
I've never really been a domestic car person and I mean at all. I'm all about Nissan, thats my thing. However the Cobalt was an very good choice I think. GM finally did something right. If they keep making cars that are this much fun, there will be a good chance I would by another, and trust me thats saying a huge amount coming from me.

lol.... and here is where this thread goes to **** from trolls... oh well it was fun while it lasted.
and yes I have also beaten a c5 from a dig, but I was on my hoosier qtps (26x9.5) at 12 psi. I'm also still on the stock clutch with 290's whp for @a year.

Yea, we went probably 10 times, I think I took 7 from him. I ran a RS4 the same day and we split the runs. It ran a best of 13.1.
The owners of a local speed shop rented MIR and we all chipped in and ran all day. There were some seriously fast cars running. Its nice to have a day free of BS to run and make changes to tunes.
