Been a Pleasure All
Been a Pleasure All
Hello Everyone;
Well been a slice however i managed to sell my 2007 Cobalt SS for what i owed and picked up a 2008 Honda Civic SI. I know alot of you are going to say that the 2009 Cobalt Turbo charged will outdown the civic any day but quite frankly thats not why i bought it.
Gradually over the last 2 years and since the day i purchased a cobalt i have had one issue after the other. Took it to the dealership they said they would look at it and it appears thats all they ever did.
I look after my vehicle and take care of all the vehicles i have ever owned but i tell you i was increasingly frustrated with the ongoing issues. A high squeal when backing up put of the garage, oud creaking when i first bought it from the suspension (Atributed to cold weather) Loud whirring sounds coming from the fans in the vehicle when starting the car first thing in the morning, rattling of the sunroof when travelling at respectable speeds, rattling of both the passenger and driver side windows, long windshield scratches from where the wipers wiped to clear water off while driving, having the sunroof button fall off on numerous occasions, problems with water entering the front head lights shorting out the electrical, remote entry not working with the key fobs replacing the fobs and reprogramming, Excessive front brake dust pitting the rims on the vehicle requiring to wash every few days, and to top it off cheap leather that was too hot during the summer.
Like i said i dont mean to cut the Cobalt down but i was really worried what would be ins tore for me in another 10000km's. How many other things woud i have to have looked at and addressed?
The 2009 Cobat is turbo-charged and yeah it will out perform a civic SI in two fold is what the arguement will be. Thats fine not looking for racing looking for a product that will last me longer than 2 years. I also know for a fact that the civic undoubty will have some issues (like any other vehicle) and i can understand that but please not sooo cumaltive as with the Cobalt.
I have encluded some pics of my old 2007 Cobalt SS (You can decide if i looked after it)and of my new 2008 Honda Civic SI. Its been a pleasure save driving and may your road always be smooth.
Those of you interested in checking out the old set of wheels and the new can ook me up on Face book. Just do a search for Richard Keller out of Edmonton, Alberta. Cheers!

I'm not too impressed with my 06 cobalt ss/sc either. I had a 13 year old 1995 Ford Probe GT and have had less problems with it in two years (the car has 250k on it) than i have with my balt in 4 months and it only has 17k on it now.
Somewhere down the line I'd like to own a fun corner throw car like the hatch civic or the focus svt. I'd love to own a mr car but seeing as the only ones I know of in the US are the nsx, mr2, and that's about it...probably not. Renault clio sport?!? Where art thou?
One of the biggest drawbacks with owning the redline is that it's actually a pretty long car...I could put a dead horse in the trunk with the seats down.

How am I being an idiot...just cause I'm not flaming him for getting rip of his POS cobalt, for a new car?
DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying Cobalts are pieces of ****, but by the sounds of things this guy got a shitty one.
