You will get bigger gains with a rear sway bar than you will with a strut tower bar. If you put a strut tower bar on before a rear sway bar you will notice a small difference. If you put a rear sway bar on and then put a strut tower brace on, you won't notice anything. Go with the rear sway bar.

Their not talking about a rear strut tower brace, their talking about a rear sway bar. The rear sway bar makes a big difference! I just got one, and I love it.

I'm running the DC sports one... it looks nice and the price was hard to beat.

I recently rode with a buddy of mine who has a custom made rear bar... holy crap what a difference... I'm definately getting one of those soon.

For visuals the CS-1 DC Sports strut bar will provide some if you get it painted or powder coated (mine was purchased/powder coated at Modern Performance). It is probably the least expensive strut bar but there are several others -- some with 2 bars and some solid aluminum. How much do you want to spend?

I think Modern Performance has the CS-1 for $130 + $7 shipping. You can paint it yourself for just a couple of bucks more.

The powder coating was >$50

This has been written about in other threads. The Cobalt's strut towers are very close to the firewall so they are supported more-so then cars with struts midway in the engine compartment. Because of this you won't feel as much difference with or without a front strut bar in normal everyday driving....at least I didn't.

Ohh.. ok. sorry bout the repost. My 99 Firebird hydrolocked and you needed a strut tower brace b/c it handled like **** without one.
