Best winter tire?

I'm looking to buy new tires for my SS since I cant stop in light snow (Hankook Ventus V2 suck). I'm looking for a good all year round tire that is really good in snow with not a lot of road noise (a lot of highway driving). Any opinions? I drive spirited by the way and I am not trying to break the bank on this as well. Looking to spend $110-$130 a tire.

Year round tires are not good in snow, that's just how it goes. Get a set of snow tires, and a set of summer tires.

Never had issues with the original v2 concepts, but the new concept2's seem to have a completely different tread pattern. Continental DWS like hawk said are some of the best all season tires you can get, i love their performance year round, they are just very pricey.

Our biggest snows are 3-6 inches. Continental DWS's do just fine.

Much deeper and I doubt they will do much.

If we are talking about the SS LNF, then yes we all have that issue. Either the rotor or pad gets wet and the stopping distance really suffers. Pre-brake to clean surface a bit before fully applying the brake.

By skids, do you mean:
You're stomping on the brakes and the ABS is going off and the car's not stopping
or
That even lightly touching the brakes sets off the ABS and the car doesn't stop?
