Body repair problems

Back in december I had a small accident that included some damage to the rear quarter panel. Just the other day I realized that where the body shop had painted that there was some paint flaking and some other defects in the paint that included paint overspray under the clear coat. Do you guys think it is possible that I can have the whole rear quarater panel repainted or are they going to give me the run arounds on it?

If it a reputable shop, they should fix it for you. I think most shops have a lifetime warranty on repairs. The shop I work at just did a paint repair on a car we painted 5 years ago. When you go back, don't throw a fit and start yelling (save that for latter if they don't want to help you!), be nice and you will get much much better results. Kind of like not pissing off a doctor just before surgery!
Good luck,
Dennis

I have to agree. I manage a collision center and would give you the same advice. Don't go in prepared to argue. Just say hey, I hate to be a bother but there is something I would like you to take a look at. Don't use any technical terms though like the "overspray under the clearcoat." If you knew what clearcoat is and what overspray is then you would realize that that claim is impossible. Just be friendly and any good shop will usually help you out.

You have a point, sorry for the wrong use of terms. I am not that knowledgeable at body work at all. I just made an assumption, though I have not used any technical terms with them I just told them it was flaking. Honestly for the paint to match I wish they would redo that whole side of the car, but I know that is not going to happen. I just think it would be right of them to repaint the rear quarter panel at least for me though.
