Why would you need to buy new rotors?

well not new rotors, but its always good to resurface them, if not replace them. just for saftey. if pads did not wear evenly, it could make rotors inbalance. and guess what happens when you put new pads on an uneven rotor ?

i usually just replace both at the same time, but its usually best to resurface rotors as well...

sometimes tho, if rotors are smooth all the way around, new rotors are not needed. (sometimes)

I was confused, but I understand where you are coming from. I didn't have to replace my rotors or get them resurfaced last time I swapped pads so I was a little confused as to why you would need to buy new ones.

I answered you earlier, no you don't need any special kind of pads. I have some from AAP and they're doing just fine.
