you can do it, you just have to talk to someone in transportation an get it on your orders and get it set up in advanced. I'm pretty sure you can still do it if you already over there but I dont know nuthin bout that process....
My boi was gonna do it back in may but decided to just pickup somethin fast once he got out there

Ok if your are in japan already you need to have your orders modified to state that you can have a car shipped as the navys expense. Then you need to find someone you trust in the states to give limited powerf of attorney to so the can drive your car and sign paper work with the transportation company. They are going to inspect your car to make sure it is safe. Make sure to only have 1/4 a tank of gas in the car for shipment. My brother shipped his 87 intergra to germany then sold it and shipped his audi back to the states. He also said if you have any questions to go to your local jag office. Hope this helped.

I'm getting ready to ship my car to Germany here in a couple days.
It's on my orders, and I'm back in the states on leave so I can do it.
If you can't go back to the states you will need to get a power of attorney so someone you know or in your family can ship it for you.
If you are making payments on the car you need a letter from the bank authorizing it to be shipped, and in order to do that you need to have a letter from your insurance stating that it will be covered during shipment and while in Japan.
Not that difficult
