CAI Wow's :(

I just recieved my Injen CAI & was so stoked to be able to get it installed as I just had STG 2 installed monday & upon installing I was having a hard time getting the tube insterted & I finally got it but not with out scratching the tube

then upon connecting the elbow & filter things plainly were not right so I refered to the instructions again & then read for 2.2L NOT a 2.0L man what a bummer.

I ordered this from Turbo Tech Racing so I have a RMA notice into them as they sent the wrong part.
I'm in fear since there are scratchs on the tube ( polished ) they will not take it back but I don't know yeat so I'll find out monday but I thought I'd post this in the General forum & then I'll post a clasified to see if some one wants a discount on a never used Injen CAI system for a discount as I'll drop $50 off the price if there is a person with 2005 - 2006 2.2 L that wants this system to just get things moving.

Email me if interested Duggordon@mchsi.com

Was it your fault for ordering the wrong one? Or did they send you the incorrect one?

Either way, bummer.

Is these scratches on the top or bottom of the tube. If it's on the bottom, and you can't notice it once it's on could you find out how much shipping will be to 30102. I might be interested.

First off I did order the right part they sent the wrong one

the scratchs are pretyty much on the side & bottom thats why I wan't real concerned as I have seen people post abot installing them & getting scratchs & I thought I couls do better but if it's the wrong part that don't help ???

I have to take off for a couple hours but I'll get some pics & post them in the Classified section as I want anyone interested to see it first before buying !

Dude the air filter will not stay on if it's for a 2.2 as the connection at the motor is farther away on a 2.2 so the 2.0 has to be a tad shorter or at least I believe.

I'm off to check there site to insure the 2.2 & the 2.0 take different part #s

The instructions that come with the 2.0 intake say 2.2 on them. Don't ask me why. Check your part #'s with TTR's website. If you are having trouble getting the rubber elbow on try turning it the other way. The 2 ends are different sizes....

part #'s are diff and just by looking at it I can tell its for the 2.0L. The 2.2 and 2.4L look diff.

Sorry guys they say it's the right part as the 2.2L has 2 tubes & the 2.0 L has the single tube so I guess it's some thing I'm doing wrong as I had it totally mounted & when I put the filter on the bumper hit it & poped it off as the part# I got is SP7026P so can one of you guys that have it installed varifie that for me as TTR says it should be SP7026 but mine is SP7026P.

I have installed 3 CAI unites before 2 on eclipses & one on my Tahoe & never had a problem but this is just not fitting right or I'm not mounting it right

TTR has worked with me great & I just want to let you all know I ordered the AEM one first & then changed my mind to the Injen after reading more here on SS net so they are letting me return the AEM with no restocking fee!

OK I just got off the phone from TTR & they are sure this is the right part so I'm off the the garage to tear it apart again !!!!

Yea I used the rubber bumper but I had to make a 1.25" adapter to move the connection back that far as there was no way it would connect with the parts suplied & I'm a bit disapointed as for $215 it should bolt right up & the stupid thing is I faught this dam thing the first time trying to get it threw the fender hole & it droped right in this time WTF ha ha ha oh well it has about 5 scratchs but ther right under that front bolt that sticks out the front upper cross member? I even had a rubber vacume plug over that stud but it looks good & best thing is it still works the same

I think everyone who has Injen has scratches on their intake...

Its just about impossible to install without scratching it in some way....

AT LEAST IT WORKS!!!

I scratched it on the bolt that sticks out in the engine bay (installed know what I'm talking about). I also put the "vibration mount" on and promptly took it off, it was pushing the air filter against the bumper pretty hard.

To help prevent scratches during install, take black electrical tape and put in all the way around the opening, the ground bolt and top frame section. Look at how the stock one is installed and you will see exactly where you need to put the tape. You will be surprised on how many less scratches you will have. And yes, you will have to leave the vibra-mount off in order to keep it from hitting the bumper. I know that this information is a little late now, but maybe it will help someone else.

Glad everything worked out fine for you. The "P" at the end stands for "Polished" if you have "BLK" at the end stands for "Black" Some common errors again are having the rubber bend on backwards as this will cause it not to fit right. Also to leave off the rubber vibration/support if it fits better without. Also, take your time and be patient as it does fit, just takes time to get it to fit right

Has anyone thought-of/tried wrapping the piping in saran wrap or something similar??? I just ordered from TurboTech (should be here soon ) so i'm not sure if this would work...
