Which Car to get?? Cobalt SS/TC or GSX
I think the gsx is reallllllllyyyy nice...
BUT
that built motor may be a beast, but how well was it built? who's hands were in it? how much are some of these parts if I need to replace them? these are questions I would be asking myself

Get the TC man...like some people have said..you're going to be glad you did when you take your car in for service. Plus all the parts that you're putting into your car, you're going to know where they came from and the quality of them. You don't know any of that with the GSX.
go with the cobalt. I do like the modded gsx but when you build a car yourself and something breaks, you can get down and fix it easily yourself. You really have to know the car when it builts like this and chances are that guy ran it hard and why is he even selling it. 15k seems steep anyways. I would go with the ss/tc and upgrade the turbo or just get a damm evolution that will run a cobalt anyday with upgrades.
i agree 100% with you about the parts.

hahaha. we'll see. that gsx is fully built inside and out. but if it does break i will cost alot of money... thats the kicker. but a built engine/tranny sounds pretty damn nice. i talked to guy and he is running 19psi for DD but 26 if he wants to push it putting down almost 500
god, the ignorance of some people.
as well built / maintained dsm will hold up just fine, hell mine 2g has given me far FEWER issues then my balt, even back in the stock days.
get the GSX man, I've got a TSi AWD and love it. Best DD car i ever could have gotten.
Is it as fast as the cobalt, nope. but hell, none of these cobalt's are either.
however, one good AWD launch and you'll be happy forever.
the guys mod list covers the two most redundant issue with 2g's. He swapped from a 7 to a 6bolt, the 6's dont walk like the 7's.
also, the shep stg3 tranny has a double synchronized 2nd gear, the most common one to grind / blow out.
get the GSX.

I say SS/TC. I love that site..... There arent many people that know what they are talking about. I was lookinh at a STi swapped 2.5rs and they guy said it was front wheel drive stock, then when he swapped it he changed it to all wheel drive. Then I saw a stock 08 lancer GTS and the guy said it has 230 whp.....

I had my fair share of imports. I had a 1997 Acura teggy, 1991 Crx Si with a B18b1 swap(2 of them), a 2000 Honda Civic SI(motor blown so I did a LS-vtec), and I was planning big this for my Honda Fit Sport. What did I learn from what I did. Its all a phase in which if you where not going all out then there is no point. Eithier you are going to like staying in the 14s or you go bigger and better. Then came out the SRT-4s and I really wanted one but Then I bought a GTO. I personallyknow the power of the all mighty 4g63 and the power of the Chevy LS engines, I just think if he buys this car and drive it as his DD it is a really bad decision. You will never get what you bought it for. When you try to sell it the buyer is going to ask whats been done, and for someone buying it they do not want to hear "Well the previous owner did all the work" because in the back of my mind it just mean you beat the hell out of it anyways. They you have the KBB.com and the NADA buyers. Find a Modded 1g GSX, TSI, or Laser AWD, hell a Galant VR4. Just don't drop $16k on a 1995 car. Bet you wait a couple of months and it will still be for sale. ~rant Off
