A Car Like Mine?
A Car Like Mine?
So, I had to take the car to dealership's body shop for a "We Owe" ticket. When I bought it, there was some paint scratched off the trunk under where you open it with the key. I finally get an appointment with the body shop, and get in there about 20 minutes after they open.
Well, usually when I've had stuff like this repaired, I've gotten in and out in under 3 hours locally, and repairs looked like new. Not here apparently. Got the "We can brush paint and have you out, or we can do it overnight and have it right." Well, some minor nuisance value over getting a rental approved, but I got one, and they now have my car until tomorrow.
n:
I get taken over to their rentals department, and the lady asks me what I drive. Cobalt SS - Supercharged.
She said she'd get me into a car like mine. What does she give me the keys to? A 2007 Mazda 3 - 4 doors, red, with cd player, auto tranny. Umm.... ok.
So, I head off and jump on the interstate. Merging with traffic, and go to drop the hammer... nothing. Well, it wasn't really nothing. It was more like what would happen if an olympic sprinter were suddenly stricken with bronchitis and asthma. After driving around manual transmissions now, and specifically, the Cobalt SS/SC, going back to automatics suck. More so when they lack the get up and go of my Cobalt. Thought I'd have to get out and push.
Think when I bring the rental back tomorrow, I'm going to say, "That was nothing like my car. My car takes off when you hit the gas."

LOL Yeah I remember last year there was a guy on here who was LIVID because they promised him his rental would be "something comprable" so in his mind he's picturing maybe a nice 350Z or something like that.... Then they gave him a 4-door Cobalt. The guy was so mad, like they were ripping him off or something. The thread went on for several pages, it was so comical.
hahahah, same thing happened to me when my srt4 was in the shop when it got rear ended..they gave me a regualar sxt neon and told me they are almost the same cars
let me see...400hp vs 130hp...HELL NA

Funny someone said mention Lambo and see what I would have gotten... some of the keys in the box were for Vettes. They had a few loaners on the floor, though I doubt I could have lied my way into one. Hehe.
I did notice the same building they had rentals in also had the GMPP stock on display that they offered. Too bad the salesman didn't come over and talk to me. He might have made a sale.

I was having some warranty work done so i needed a rental. I got a bare bones Chevy Aveo. Power nothing. Not even ABS brakes. Me and my buddies beat the **** out of that thing. It was great. Only had it for a day though.
Hey, my Aveo didn't have any options. Any get this. You could not lock the door and close the door. I can't remember if the door would unlock or wouldn't close all the way, but I had to lock the door from the outside everytime. Talk about stupid.
hey at least you had a chevy i had a kia damn clown car i feel your pain with the aveo
This is actually a feature designed into the door lock. Its so you dont lock the car and shut the door, leaving your keys inside. By forcing you to lock it from the outside, you will never lock your keys inside the car, at least thats the idea. Ive worked on a car door lock before with this feature, and while im not sure the Aveo has this feature, it probably does.
