Car Shuts Off At 98mph?
Me and my dad were talking about tuning the car and he said as your car is now it will not let you go faster than 98mph. I'm arguing with him cause I think it will go past 98mph. My friends mom has an 04 impala and we have been 110 in it, complete stock btw. Is this shut off a 98mph bull? Or is it for like just trucks?

If you have an Base/LS/LT, your limiter will be either 105MPH or 115MPH depending on the tires the car came with stock. My G5 had the Continential Contact AS's stock and the limiter kicked in at 115.
The SS Supercharged and turbocharged are limited at around 157MPH.

im sorry but thats a pretty rediculous question. unless you went back in and reprogrammed your governor to kick on at what your new tires are rated at then ya it would change. also not all tires are created equal. just cause you have 225/40r18 tires doesnt mean theyre rated the same as all other brands at that size.
