onstar doesnt pick up if the car is in a building/warehouse, its just like gps units.. and when i used to have onstar it would cut out when giving me directions and i had to go through even a shallow tunnel. and as far as i know, onstar hasnt used battery backup since their trials with the 2006 impala/monte carlos.. so if battery is killed, no onstar. their website states that in an asterisk.
I had a friend that had his impala stolen right in front of our federal building and courthouse downtown.. (its a glass building btw) they broke the plastic under the steering wheel, there was a rod on the left side the robber pulled up after jamming a screw driver in the key ignition to blow away the steering lock, after pulling the rod up car started fine, no "hotwiring" needed../without a rollback or tow truck, whomever stole it obviously knew the cobalts weakness, every car is steal-able, if the right/wrong person gets in it.
good luck finding it, hopefully insurance will pay out and you can go on with life atleast.

oh hell no, one of the reasons i invested in a Python alarm starts beeping in my pocket up to a mile away if someone is messing with America. When i first got my head unit i was very scared that it was going to get stolen a big deterrent is leaving the remote start on and locking it up when u walk into 7/11 for a sec. Also get illegal tints so no body can see what you got in there, carbon fiber screams steal me steal me i was thinking about it i got enough problems and i dont need to be **** over a 500 dollar hood. Hope you got GAP go get a new LNF in stolen red!

lo-jack would contact you if the car is started and moved with out the sensor you should have on your keychain. and lo-jack systems are really hard to find. i think they even have a X amount of hours they can find your car or they pay for it..something like that lol
maybe you dont have lo-jack?

not true you lock your keys in your car you call Onstar they open it up, factory alarm sucks dick i have never heard it go off once 500 dollars on a python well spent and when its hot out i remote start and let it cool off inside. I wouldnt in a million years get onstar theres something about bigger brother watching me do 160+ down the sawgrass.
You don't do 160+, so why say that?
