At The Car Wash...
At The Car Wash...
Anyone besides me always feel the intense need to make sure their car is clean? I'm washing mine at least 2 to 3 times a week (when i have time), and loving every minute of it, especially the looks i get when i'm driving around.

Yea it just like when you get married. So you start out having fun a lot but then it get old and the excitement dies. I live in a really rainy place so I have washed my cars every week and know I can go a couple of weeks before I need to wash. It also hurts the paint if you wash toooooooo much.
All I need know is a hands free car washing place. Hell I would even pay for the 50 to 60 dollar detail if I had one in my area.
Here is a list of how serious I got in washing my car.
1. pressure washer
2. Mr clean car wash assy
3. lams wool mitts.
4. Maguire's 1 ,2 and 3 wax
5. Mothers carnauba wax
6. Clay pad from mothers (second bar)
7. **** load of diapers for waxing.
8. micro fiber cloths to clean windows and dash.
9. wheel cleaner.
10 tier shine.
11. 3 different chamois. (2 diff deer skin, 1 man made)
12. Polishing machine.
13. Paint for paint chips.
14. Glass leaner.
15. lots of buckets.
16. rubbing compound.
17. polishing compounds.
Is there anything else????? I need to detail my car.

you are going to wash your car away ...lol .... thats an intense list
I wash mine 2 times per week weather permitting, 3 times a week I will do an interior clean ... and take it to get detailed every month ...unless I fill it with sand from a trip to the cottage then I take it in when I get back
i used to wash it everyday when i worked at the car wash, but now i try to wash and wax it every weekend, at least wash once a week, but i leave it in the garage for the most part and take my grandparents car to school and wherever i need to go, so it doesnt get dirty
I make sure to run it through a touchless wash at least once a week but when I do happen to make the trip home I borrow my parents pressure washer and leave all my cleaning supplies there. I can't seem to get motivated to do the inside of the car as often since it is almost always spotless but I definitely should start doing it more often. It got one hell of a bath last weekend since I was trying to keep it clean for the meet in TO...I must have ran it through touchless washes four times within a period of a day and a half. Thinkin I shouldn't be doing that all the time
.
Can't wait to move into the house so I can start washing 'er by hand more often but right now I really don't have much of a choice.
Oh ya, just thought of this c7015, where do you take yours to get detailed? I've been hoping to find a place around here to do it particularly when the winter gets here since salt stains destroy your interior but I don't want just anyone doing my car and I wouldn't have a clue where to even begin looking

theres a place close to us at fanshawe and wonderland that does a good job ...tell tehm in advance about rims though because they have a track and they will line up the inside of the one wheel so there is no chance of it scratching
EDIT: btw its only like 20$ for an inside & out clean ...and they do a great job plus there all into cars. I had a few extra crew when I took mine in because they all wanted to check it out
another good place is right across from the train station ...they guy who owns it drives a nice lotus which is usually parked out back
touchless car washs=suck
i worked at one i would know, they dont remove the road film off your car, take it through one then once its dry, rub your finger across it somewhere and you will see that there is stilla film on the car, the only way to get your car truly clean is to use a brush or scrub by hand, i wouldnt recommend using the drying cloth to remove the film left behind while you are drying because you are only smearing around dirt. hope that helps anybody lol

Maybe I'll drive down there this weekend and check it out since I definitely want to get a few good detailings in especially with all the damn leaves on the ground blowing in my door. I've passed by the one on York on lunch since it's just around the corner from where I work and stopped a couple times when they had some nicer cars in the garage. Since I haven't been in London all that long I wasn't really sure who to trust with the car and I'm already picky as all hell with it so thanks for the recommendations...I'll feel a little better taking my car in to either place now to get it done

Wash mine at least once a week. Or the day after it rains. My wife says Iam very **** about keeping my cars clean. They are building a Mikes Express Car Wash right down the street from my house. Now I'll be able to keep it clean in the winter too.
I try to wash mine at least once a week. I've always been borderline-obsessive about keeping my cars/trucks clean. My neighbors (especially the nosy chick next door) are always ragging on me about it...
Oh, and if you think any of us are ****, I know where there is a ZR2 S10 that has 4400 miles, rarely leaves the garage, is kept under a cover, and still has the new-car plastic coverings in the cab. No lies. Unfortunately it's not mine, but it might be for sale...
