cd-rw
exactly, i bought a pack of ten cd-rw for 9 bucks and the pack of 10 just normal cd-r was only two bucks cheaper. so i figured hey, ill just buy these ten, when i want to make a new cd after i have used the ten up, ill just pick one and erase it and make another new cd and not have to buy more. o well, live and learn i guess.
I got one of those CD holders that is like a small book. Holds 24 CDs and fits in the pocket in the door. At 192Kbps, I get over 8 hours of MP3s on each CD, so I have 8 days of music in my car! Over 200 reg CDs (or albums, if you're old like me) on 24 discs.
Man I love MP3s!!!

man what store?? i was just at best buy, and i didnt see anything with a deal near that. i boght a pack of 25 lightscribe cd's (so i can make some cool covers) for 15 bux. the regular spindle of 25 cd-r's was 12 bux. and yes, i did look at everything they had to offer....
I just watch the ads and get them when they have rebates. Every so often they have a rebate equal to the price so they end up costing almost nothing.
Also check BB and CC sites, they usually are cheaper online but you can order them there and pick them up in the store.
