Ceramic brake pads

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on ceramic brake pads and if they would be as good or better than the stock pads that come on the SS/SC? Thanks!!!

they would definitely be better, but I don't know if any are out yet. If you are looking to upgade brakes, look for Uneek's post, he has awesome pads and rotors for sale.

The ones on the Red Line are supposed to be Ceramic, but I was getting way too much brake dust. At about 20K I put in some Morse Ceramic Pads (Auto-Zone Special Order) and the wheels rarely show any signs of brake dust. Stopping power is probably the same. I would highly recommend em if you have polished or chrome wheels.

So Are we able to get any of these pads to fit the SS/SC oem setup or do I have to go with a completely new one? I think this will save some rim washing etc.

When you get ceramic pads, make sure you mate them with suitable rotors. I crashed an Eclipse a few years ago cause I had crappy rotors. I was told that since the materials of the pads and rotors were so mismatched, they couldn't cause enough friction. Especially since it was kinda cold out and the car had sat in a parking lot for 5 hours, 5-10 min. before I wrecked.

According to my dealer, the stock pads on the SS/SC are ceramic, too, says that's the reason the rotors get grooves in them

Auto zone and advance auto both have ceramic high friction, low dust pads for the front and rear. I put 'em on my SS/SC about 3 days after getting it. Almost no dust at all and much tighter feel to the brakes. These work great with the stock rotors. about $90.00 for total.
