Change the AC Compressor Clutch
Hello,
Has someone experience to change the ac compressor clutch of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS? Is this possible without removing the whole ac compressor?

you can change just the clutch. the a/c system will have to be discharged and the compressor removed from the vehicle. you will need a 3 jaw puller, snap ring pliers and an impact gun to remove the clutch plate nut or a tool to hold the hub assembly so you can remove the clutch plate nut with a ratchet.
not sure what is jammed up with your assembly....make sure the compressor shaft rotates by hand. If its seized or and metal is seen in the pag oil....the comp is f'ed replace it and the condenser/reciever drier.
