Chevy Cobalt Time Attack info

I just bought the April issue of Super Street and has alot of info about our cobalt, including an interview with the driver, this car has come within 2.4secs of recording the fatest time attack lap ever (which is currently held by a 500hp mits evo) to paint a better picture the SS beat out more than 50 competitors driving cars like the skyline, evo and even the new mustang.


Fun Facts of the SS time Attack

Power: 283hp and 243lb-ft with nitrous 380hp and 387lb-ft

Under the Hood:
Ecotech 2.0l SS engine; Eaton m-62 Gen 5 hybrid with 76mm (2.1:1 ratio)pulley: siemens 5.64 g/s injectors; R5671A-10 V-power with 0.025-inch gap NGK spark plugs; martin Technologies port injection system NOS hardware, 10lb aluminum bottle, 0.20 jets enabler and n20 temp controls, Armstrong race engineering (ARE) dry sump, fuelsafe fuel cell

Drivetrain:
Factory F35 and Quaife LSD with 4.45 final drive trans, Exedy hiper single 225mm clutch and 225 low mass flywheel

Suspension
Modified Pontiac G6 (production) knuckle machined for pontiac grand am bearings, Hypercoil springs with ohlins strut shock with remote canister 3-way adjustable and nitrogen charged, production rear suspension with 5/8 welded stability bar

Tires/Wheels
Enkie wheels 17x9 w38/mm offset front and rear hoosier A3S05 tires 245/45/17 front and rear

Breaks:Front: Production cobalt ss sc 54mm piston calipers and 311 mm rotor (p/n 311.28.0054.87 left; 311.28.0045.88 right) floating hat (p/n 90150200) and RS14 pads
Rear: Production cobalt ss sc 270x14 (solid) rotors with production cobalt ss sc N702H pads



Most of the other stuff we all know this stuff is alittle more technical then Ive seen....So enjoy!!

GM also stated they are gonna release the entire build book of the car on their website sometime soon..

EDIT: Also hinted they are building a solstice for next year

yep and those are some nice pictures. a question though.... the supercharger. is that what u call ported?
