If you've got a paper filter... every 3-5000 miles is reccomended.

If you've got a re-usable one... I'd check it every 10,000 just to be safe.

I've been using the K & N filter cleaning kit on my Injen for the past 12,000 miles (4 oil changes) or so without a problem.

The K&N kit has directions, but its fairly simple. Remove the filter, spray it down with the cleaning solution (clean side first, then dirty side), let it soak, spray it out with low pressure water (from the clean side only), let it dry, check for cleanliness, reapply cleaner and repeat if needed, let dry, then apply the oil from the kit to the ridges of the filter (dirty side). Let soak and dry, then re-intall filter and enjoy. Very important to use low pressure clean or filtered water. I have a rainsoft system that removes impurities from the water in the house. If you don't have access to something like that, you can get a filter at any home depot that attaches to the water hose. If you use impure water, you're just putting impurities back into the filter. If you use anything other than low pressure, you run the risk of damaging the filter. Hope this helps.

How often should the GMPP intake filter be changed? The stock white filter I would just look it over, and if it was too dirty I'd change it. The GMPP filter is red and its harder to see dirt. I'm thinking I'll swap it out once a year.

I think regular scheduled maintenance on most air filters is 15k miles. thats what i was stock with my stocker. I don't know what it is for aftermarkets. I don't think they need to be done every oil change. tho it couldn't hurt, just might get costly.

Just talked to CED. the filter on the GMPP should be handled the same way as any other paper filter. check it out every 10-15k miles for replacement. K&N suggest 30-50k, AEM suggests 50k or 30 months.

a paper filter usually not. you could probably beat some dirt out of it and even hit it with a vacuum for a cheap fix, but the K&N and AEM's are reusable
