Cobalt attracts scumbags...

so ya. i wake up this morning after detailing my car yesterday and my ******* passenger side window is smashed. they stole my v1, canon rebel digital camra w/ battery pack, 512 memory card, bag, charger, 150 of my cds. I am f'ing ripped right now. and then to top it off the RICER stole one of my underdash neon lights. but only 1. not both.

the only thing positive is that this kid got owned when he couldnt find the trunk relase button and poped my hood instead. .. ******* idiot. .

needless to say i just had a girl officer rip ass while she was looking into my car while making the police report. and when i gave her the price on everything it was over 2k in stolen ****. so im not happy right now at all.

and ofcourse last night was the first night i went to bed early at 11:30 instead of staying up to 4am like i did for the past 3 weeks straight. just my luck...

end of rant for now untill i see what insurence is doing for me. ill post pics later w/ my camra phone.

Sorry man... But next time you need to be more careful... i park my car under my carport every night, in a good neighborhood. But i still take my radar detector in every night and when im out i unplug it so its not blatently there. I would do the same with my digital camera etc.... My apartment was robbed before, so i know how you feel, they took my laptop and my roomates jewlry, and we had no renters insurance.

dude crime is a fact of life no matter where you live. so this is not shocking to me. Also you should never leave that many valuable things in your ride. The only thing I leave in my car are my cd's and those are all burned copies so no big loss. The first time some punk walks by and see's a laptop or something of similar value in a car consider your window gone. Also why did your alarm not go off ? Does this alarm not go off when the windows are smashed ?

we had no renters insurance

what type of ghetto apartment lets you live there without insurance ? Just a bit of advice for you apartment dwellers. You should go to home depot. Buy two l brackets and mount them into your frame. Then purchase a 2 x 4 and put that across the door.... Apartment doors and locks are the easiest flimsiest things to break into. There was a rash of break in's and this girls apartment that I was banging back in the day. So I used this method well sure as **** they tried breaking into her apartment. The frame came out a little bit but that was about it. Criminals go for the easy quick target. The more time and noise you make them go through the less likely they will finish the job.

The Cobalts Car Alarm doesn't go off unless the door locks are manually lifted up by hand(top portion of the door by the window) when your not using the key fab to unlock. Otherwise the theft deterrant system is useless. I bet he smashed and grabbed without thinking twice about opening the door.

Don't keep stuff in your car! If you are going to keep crap in there, keep it in the trunk!

Sorry to hear that buddy.

that sucks man good luck finding the jackass. Sucks that people have to stoop down to that level. i ****** walked by a car who left their ****** keys on their trunk in a huge public parking lot, doesnt mean you can just ****** take it and go. There are scumbags wherever you go, you just have to keep it smart. i never leave anything in my car.

Sorry to hear the news bro, I had my 97 Blazer robbed a couple years ago at my friends appartment complex, they smashed my window and stole my entire system...subs...deck...amps, all my cd's...but they left my LED light bars atleast :P. I know how you feel...after that I went and got an alarm system and never had a problem yet.

I didn't know the alarm won't go off on the Cobalt if the window is smashed...guess that means i'm getting an alarm system for the balt as well.

I never leave anything in my Cobalt anymore, I take off my deck face and stash it, and I never leave my cd's inside anymore...thats the best advice I can give to anyone.

And I don't think the Cobalt attracts scumbags...I think its just an apartment thing...scumbags tend to dwell in or around them...no offense to you man.

yeah it sucks man sorry to hear about it. Guys/Girls we all need to stop leaving **** in our cars. Even if you have tint seriously take your stuff out of the car. Also when you pull into your neighborhood turn off your radio completely don't attract attention at all and drive slow. It is hard to prevent such crimes from happening regardless of items left in the car or not but it is better a window be smashed and replaced than a 1k dollar camera set and 1k $$$ in cd's stolen plus a broken window.

When I had my stereo sub and cd's stolen from my 3000gt I was heart broken so I know the feeling first hand even with an alarm when your asleep a few minutes is all it takes for your stuff to be gone before anyone identifies an alarm going off. I don't want to use this as an example but honestly lets all try to protect our investments anyway we can by simply taking care of our stuff and putting it inside for the night. This is especially true when it is raining outside as more cars are broken into when it is rainy than any other time.

I know how you feel man. About 6 years ago I had my show truck parked at my friends apartment while we were having a dinner and movies night with the boys. Walked out at about 2am, my window was smashed, all my CDs were gone, they ripped all five amps, the eq, the crossovers, and the head unit out. Least they didn't get the subs since they pretty much required taking the whole seat out and taking about the back firewall of the cab.

Yea this happened to me too, but all they got was my radar detector. IM surprised your alarm didnt go off, did they not open your door and do a reach and grab like they did to me? Sorry to hear that man, if you gotta a deductible atleast yout not paying 2 grand out of pocket. My deductible was 500 so there was no point in me making a claim as the radar detector was only 150 bucks and the window costed 200 with a 45 install fee.

my cars been vandelized b4.

also i keep all my cds in my car. but good thing is that i ripped them all for my friend on his laptop so they all saved on his comp i foudn out today. so when i get an ipod ill have my music back.

also turns out the scumbag took my moms registreationg sticker and her registration itself. they also took my ez pass. so if they use it then i will have a plate number . not to mention that i litteraly had a trash bag of my stuff in the trunk since i clenaed my car yesterday, had my Gtech in that bag. luckly they didnt get that. also they broke into about 5-8 cars on my street i guess.

my camra has its own insurence policy so thats good. and the other stuff im not to worry bout since i have home owners as well. the window will be fiixed tom. and my tint will be replaced for free. ( ya i was also the one who scratched there tint when unlocking the passenger side door w/ my keys in my hand so atleast that good came out of it. )

and i am deff. buying a 2 way pager alarm next week. im sick of scumbags.

i was also one of those people " it would never happen to me." bullshit it can lol
