Was posted here some time last year... don't care to find the thread. The response was overwhelmingly negative.

Rear window sweep into the side door glass makes it look like its morphed from two different cars being combined together.

Rework the rear window/side windows, beef up the drivetrain. Then call it a Nova SS.

LOL

You just know somebody is going to do the "Heritage Act" with that name.

And I've owned a few original Novas.

Here's a quick PS i did over a year ago when we were talking about Cruze coupe design on JBO.

I figured knowing GM they would do the cheapest possible thing to make a coupe so they would LITERALLY just stretch the doors and move the b-pillar of the sedan. So rather than making some unrealistic concept i just made a real world idea that could be "realistically" produced right now.

I lopped off the rear doors, moved the b-pillar back, lowered it (GM would probably raise it 6 inches) and blacked out the lower air dam to give it a more aggressive sporty look. Of course it was done quickly so when you look through the windows it's still a sedan...LOL. But you get the idea. And I might be biased, but i actually like more than the over done concept that guy drew.

Yeah, they REALLY dropped the bal by not having an LNF model. Maybe, they're waiting to do it as way to mid-cycle refresh it? Once interest wanes they'll drop an LNF in the Cruze to get people talking again. But for now if you want a new Cobalt TC you'll have to go to Buick and pick up a new Regal. That's where they moved the LNF to. And iirc, you can get the GS with AWD too.

A million or so to retool some machines to delete a door move the weld points of a modified b-pillar and punch and assemble a longer single door Vs. "millions" to retool an entire plant and suppliers to build an entirely new body (like the one in the concept). My car is much more cost effective and realistic "if" they were to consider a coupe model.

If they threw a 2.0 LNF in there with a 6-speed Getrag it would be like a money tree for them.

The styling is a little too aggressive in the rear for my taste but it looks 1,000X better than the Cruze. The Cruze is gross looking imo.

DO NOT CALL IT A NOVA!!!

thank you. the Nova should be built on the CTS frame with a 3.6 DI and an LS3 option. And maybe a COPO LSA?!?

If you ask me it looks a lot like the European Opel Tigra. Not such a big surprise; Opel is part of GM.

Personally, I like these two versions much better:
