So my fuel sending unit is bad. I already replaced the pump (just the pump with a walbro) last year so I bought an ac delco sending unit from rockauto to swap in this past weekend. Well when I dropped the tank and went to swap the sender it was different than the one I bought. After looking it appears the pump assembly was replaced with an airtex unit before I bought it. Since I've already replaced the pump I was going to pick up a used housing from a pick and pull junkyard and swap my pump and new sender on it. Question is, are the housings the same between base cobalts and ss's? Thanks and sorry if this has been covered.

all i can tell you is 2005 ss models the basket is different than a 2006 and newer ss. past that, i dont know

So I picked up a used pump assembly this past weekend from an 06 LT (I believe) and it looks like it should work. I'm going to try and swap my pump over to the basket this weekend and then I'll know for sure.

 

I swapped my walbro pump into the LT basket and every thing worked fine. Just posting so if anyone else ever has a similar problem.
