Cobalt SS 4 door sedan
Who else out there has an SS 4 door model? I purchased one 2 months ago and am very pleased with it. My two reasons for not getting the SS S/C: I would get pulled over too much, guaranteed, and I haul a lot of people + luggage and need the 4 doors. I love the look of this car: 17" polished wheels, white-faced instrument panel, chrome exhaust tip, 7-speaker pioneer sound system, fog lamps, sunroof, power everything, sport tuned suspension, 171 hp, chrome trim in the interior - all very sharp. However, my gas mileage still isn't great - about 23mpg after 2500 miles of highway driving. I still have not seen another one on the road - does anyone else have one?

Yeah i have a 2006 silver SS 4dr and when i put in 87 octane i can go more then a week without filling up. when i use 91 octane my mileage goes down like crazy. i can almost see the gas meter moving to the left. with the 87 octane i definitly notice a decrease in performance, not a big one but its there. one night when i went from my usual premium to the 87 octane my engine light came on for about 3 hours, so it certainly didnt like it. from now on i think i will stick to the 91 octane and just put up with the bad gas mileage, or maybe try 89 octane and see how that works.

Hell if half the people in London that own the 2.4L signed up you'd have a load of sedan owners. I've only seen two 2.4L coupes (black and yellow) around town the rest have been all sedans (and some really bizarre colours too). I keep seeing the same one (sedan) on the way home from work and the guy drives it like it's stolen .

bug season
Hey Blkcobalt - I too have a black one, and I am paying the price for it! Rigtht now it is Mayfly season around Lake Erie, and these bugs are detrimental to the black paint! Any suggestions of a good product to remove the dozens and dozens of smashed bugs on a daily basis?

heres a tip to keep bugs off of your body. buy an aersol can of spray detail like an armorall type product that makes surfaces sticky. spray it over the front of the car and it will make the bugs come right off. TRUST me because i work in a detailing shop and this is what we do when customer go away on long trips.

My 2.2 Sedan does pretty good on gas Not sure how displacement and VVT play in this role but if your doing more city driving then highway and run the **** out of your A/C then you will run into problems.

Doing better on gas mileage..... as of July 2006 i am now averaging about 28 - 31 mpg at 9800 miles. But to get that mpg, I must constantly use the cruise control at no higher than 62mph

I just smoked some bitch in a short drag race a week ago - i was surprised, since she has a 2007 model = 2 more HP. i guess my engine is broken in, and hers isn't!!!
