cobalt ss or civic si
I dont like the Si cause of the steering wheel. The cobalt interior I think is nicer and has a better dash setup. I rice burners all day long and I'm starting to get tired of seeing them. Dude drive a american made vehicle.
keep the ss/sc
if u had a 2.4 id say get the Si
SS/sc is faster than the Si which is faster than the 2.4 all properly driven
but!! if u want to really do a lot of mods.. id get the Si.. the aftermarket for hondas is insanely big unlike ours

no man. the stock ss/sc is much faster than a si...when iwas stock my friend has a new si..and he is a good driver..i keep up with him. now that i have mods and he is stock..i take a few cars on him.
same here, my gf thinks my buddies srt is ugly haha, another win for the cobalt lol
then plain and simple your friend isn't a good driver. They have run 14.7's stock and i dont think anyone has even hit a 14.8 yet in a 2.4 with bolt ons.
you want a different car everyday
To the OP...get whatever you want. If you need to justify your purchase by what other people tell you, then it's not right. Go with what YOU want, not what other people think is good for you.
Good luck with your decision, and if you do decide to do the switch, be prepared to take a depreciation hit on the balt'

The 2.4 would have a hard time keeping up with the 02'-05' Si and they were considerably slower than the 06'+.
i wouldnt agree on the 02-05 one being a hard time, but it sure as hell wouldn't be a slaughter. I've seen alot of 2.4 guys over-estimate their cars, no offense, but i slaughter 2.4's in my v6 and mild bolt on k20 si's give me a hard time.
torque or no torque the Si's are fast. Now Im not jumping on the Honduh band wagon I just have enough sence to not lie to myself. I know people like to smack talk civics but all joking aside they deserve some credit.
But I still wouldnt own one.

im not talkin **** to about them..alrite next time ill have to get a vid and show u that a 2.4 and beat a 02-05 si and a 06 si.nevermind this thread is going to go nowhere..honda did a nice job with the civic..but american we shall stay.
as long as u keep the honda in vtec then ur golden.. and that low torque number dont mean much.... 2.4s cant run wit Si;s stock for stock same way Si's cant run with ss/scs stock for stock
on the street anything can happen.. we know everybody aint mario andretti out there lol.. but this is talking ideal cisrumstances

the si runs stock 15.2 a really good driver can get it down to 14.8.....so a stock ss/sc shud beat them...a stock ss 2.4 can run same numbers...but no they cant run 14.8 stock with a good driver..but it all depends how good the driver is..now modded is a different story
an 06-07 si is pretty even for a 2.4 in a 1/4 mile... now on a road course, different story...
in an ideal world, the si should squeek out a win, but it's not a huge space on either side.

14.6 is the fastest ive seen them run with any level of believability.
more than 1 has run it.
there is this one guy who maintains he did 14.2, but even the whole honda community calls BS, because only a very few have run 14.6.
in the same way that most ss/scs run 14.6-15.0
so do civic SIs mostly run 15.0-15.5
its almost an exact copy of the ss vs SRT4
close race, but if both well driven the srt4 will win,
and the cobalt should against the SI.

Some people on here really need to know the facts before they **** talk the Si. The car is in a class of its own among 4 bangers. Its not quite as fast as an SSSC, but defenetly quicker then an SSNA.
If you plan to really mod the car out, the Si is a better choice. The K20Z1 takes so well to mods, better then the SSSC in my opinion. An Si with intake, headers, exhaust, and hondata reflash (widens VTEC range from 6000-8100rpms, to 4900-8500rpms. It also adds 20whp at 8000rpms. The car can easily run 12s with bolt ons and nitrous. Check the time slips and you'll see, f/I K20s are well into the 11's.
Please don't think I'm biased towards the Civic, I like the cobalt as well, but I know I don't need to preach about the Cobalt since you all are informed about it.
And for you people talking about your 2.4 being a driver race with a stock Si, just stop. My buddy has an 07 Si sedan, and I drive it a lot, so I can vouch for the car. Take the Si off traction control to where it won't bog everytime you chirp 2nd or 3rd, and speed shift the close gear ratio 6spd, all while staying in VTEC, and a 2.4 won't be a problem. Please don't take me for a Honda fanboy, just giving the facts. I do in fact love Chevy and the SS vehicles as well.
