Cobalt vs Black ice..

on my way to work at 4:30 am after 5+ inches of snow hit a patch of ice at 65-70 mph.

Anyways it felt like someone just pushed my rear end to the left and after that i was in a strong spin, could not see nothing cause snow blew all over the car, guy behind me said i spun at least 3 times getting inches from a guard rail and 2 light poles. Until i slid down a hill at a decently steep angle(pictures don't look as big or steep as it was) and came to a stop.

Ill try to upload pictures once i can get them off my phone.

Damn that's crazy, glad you and the Balt are okay. Something similar happened to me last night I was having some fun drifting doing perfect drifts with e brake in a parking lot and then all of the sudden on my way to my gfs house in one empty street with a turn I did a drift as usual and lost control and spun around 2 times about 3ft away from a light pole. Needless to say I stopped playing in the snow and don't plan on doing it ever again unless it's a big lot without cars and poles. Learned my lesson.

Geeze, close call I guess. Must have been a sigh of relief when you didn't hit anything.

right, but i was 10 mins from work, 40 mins from home. And it was like to early to get ahold of insurance to get it out of the ditch. it all worked out tho I'm just glad i got lucky.

Last sunday on the way to work a guy i work with hit ice slammed into a tree and flipped and rolled his f150, so it wasn't bad.

I had a bad encounter like this once and I left the scene of accident without calling cops and almost got a ticket the fucked up thing was my car was the only one in the accident i swirved to avoid a deer in the road went off the other side into a ditch and got stuck, I walked back home to get someone with a truck to pull me out.

a cop just happened to drive by while I was gone and see my car in the ditch, when I got back to my car he asked me what happened and I explained everything and thats when he said he was gonna write me a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident(i was a teenager) I think he was just trying to scare me or being a dick for no reason so no other car or anything at all other then me was involved in the accident but the guy that came to pull me out talked to him for me and explain that I was young and didnt know to call the cops and he dropped it.

So due to that encounter I wouldnt leave my car to go work even if im the only one involved. I still dont understand how he legally can write me a ticket for that but he was about too. lol

SAME THING! state cop tried tell me my car was in the ditch over night, he said i can't just "ditch it and leave" only thing that kept me from getting a ticket was the tow truck driver told him i called him right after it happened and that was as quick as he could get it.

Any ways a buddy of mine sold it cobalt a few weeks ago and just so happens yesterday he hit some ice and flipped the car.

Glad you are ok!

Happened to me last year on an off ramp, the whole ramp was an ice rink. I saw the SUV ahead of me start to slide and then my back end started going left, I tried to control the skid and it came back to the right and then went into a slow spin and then just slid sideways for about 20 metres. By the time we came to the ditch on the other side of the ramp we were sliding sideways maybe doing 2-3 mph and just softly stopped. No damage, no rough stopping. I was astounded at how lucky we were... 10 feet away from the SUV that slid in front of us. The next 25 vehicles to take the ramp were not so lucky! And to add to my luck none of them hit my car. We had exitted the vehicle and were about 20 feet away up a hill to be out of harms way just in case. It took about 2 hours until the tow truck could get to us to pull us back onto the road and on our way, the cops took my info but said no damage? go ahead get outta here, we'll contact you if we need witnesses.

thats crazy! benefit of having a smaller car, it was like i was in a movie cause as soon as i got sideways at like 60 mph snow covered all the windows and all i seen was the wipers moving. If only i had a go pro mounted..
