COBALT WINS TIME ATTACK
Taking first place at the time attack

Ok this is what I know so far in the new Super Street March issue on page 48 Street Speak, it said:

“ GM Cobalt time attack car –I surprised that General motors built a Cobalt just for Super Street Time Attack event, and what’s more, surprised the cobalt time attack car took FIRST PLACE at the time attack event, it means this cobalt is faster than a R34 GT-R and a Lancer Evo.”

Does any one else have any more info other then those few lines I have, and does any one know the time it set? I would really like to know the time the COBLAT SET that day.

it comes on TV too. They go over it a few times. I can't remember the show name.....Basically it stomped everything out that day. I don't think anything else was built like it though. A bit unfair....JMHO

 

a friend of mine emailed me these scans of the SuperStreet April 2006 issue article about the Time Attack win by the Cobalt.

it's not too important what it's competition that day was, because the car did the " second fastest time EVER " at that track. GO COBALTS !!

Isn't that the car they are building on that tuner show on SPEED? Theres like a VW and a Skyline also being built.

I remember see the overview of the race on SPEED.

 

No, it's different. The tuner car was only a Stage 2 and no spray.

There is another show that done the same cobalt, has ALOT more coverage of the day's event, called Redline.tv also on SPEED

 

that is one bad ass ride. says its gettin 382. and all it syas is a smaller pulley

The dyno. They baselined a stock '05 then dynoed the "Challenge" car

 

That is still good news for the ss/sc guys other companies are going to see this and pirk thier interest. Now is some one would do this with the 2.4L.

 

If the Cobalt did that good, imagine how much better a RedLine would have done. God I hate when GM does that ****. They always give us the shaft. More expensive options, less power, cheaper interior.
