Considering a Cobalt SS/NA
Considering a Cobalt SS/NA
Hello gentleman,
I'm just wondering your opinions. I'm looking to get a 2007 Cobalt SS/NA from a dealer with 49k miles at $10,000 out the door. The car looks great, leather interior, runs and drives very nice, and I've been wanting a cobalt.
Think that is a fair price? Too high? Think the mileage is good?
Any other thoughts?
Much appreciated.

EDIT: ALSO, what would be a good price range OTD?
Also use edmunds.com, nada.com, and kbb.com to get yourself an idea as to what the price should be.
Interesting, My SS/SC ended up being the exact same price as my LS insurance wise.
The car was originally priced at 11k and brought down to $9980 before tax, title, etc.
I had an 06 ss/sc from 18-20 years old full coverage was 220 a month then I traded it in on a brand new ss/tc sedan and my insurance went down 55 a month lol and im 21 now clean record so I pay like 160 a month for full coverage right now with usaa and a $500 deductable
Dude honestly not trying to sound like a dick but if you cant afford insurance on even a lsj dont buy a new car save yourself a headache its not gonna be much compared to a ss/na both still cobalts just sayin bro
Whether its supercharged or not, doesn't matter...it has the SS label on it and that's what the insurance company sees. An ss/sc might....might run you a little more insurance wise, but I highly doubt it. If you want cheaper insurance you need an ls
You don't sound like an ass. I understand where you're coming from. Maybe I should scout around for a better insurance deal but the quote I got was about $100 more from an ss/na to ss/sc.
19 part time job as a student. The last thing you need is a car payment. if you have a running car just deal with it until after college and you have a full time job. Save all your money until you can afford a car and then pay with cash.
According to blue book values .... it's a solid price . They have a private party value of 9800 in excellent condition ... and suggest retail of 11.5 K . Hell trade in value is 8100 ..... so if you can get out the door (tax title ect.) for 10K .... thats pretty good if the car is in excellent condition.
I dunno, I say dont do it simply because its autotragic.... Seriously my freind has an auto G5Gt and I can sware high and low my standard 2.4 is a good bit quicker...
Now if thats not your thing and you really dont care about that than yes its a solid price and overall its a fantastic car.

I got my 07NA for 12K last year from a dealership. 49K miles. Bare-minimum insurance would have cost me $180/month. Then again, I have 2 moving violations on my record and I had just turned 25 when I got the car.
IMO it's a good car, it's got some decent amount of power, it would make a pretty good daily driver but it may leave you wanting more. I agree with the guys that say try to find a SC/TC from places like auto trader.
