Construction in Michigan

I personally am frustrated with the fact that it seems on every street corner I turn there is orange barrels, cones or blockage of roads. Today coming into work I hit eight construction zones that slowed me down and made me drive almost another 1 hour longer then I needed to. I seriously left at 7am and just now got to work at 9am. It takes an hour with traffic and when it's a weekend, a drive to work should only take 25 minutes.

Road improvements.... they aren't doing **** with anything either. 3/4's of the roads didn't need any work, they seemed fine to me?? Just the fact that they tell you to slow down in construction zones is fine but.... jesus why don't you give me a break and finish a project you started like 2-3 years ago. I mean come on... how long does it take to pave a whole mile for one lane and move some stupid power poles? What makes me mad is that they sat on there hands the whole summer and just now as it's fall and people going back to work because there kids are going back to school.... and they are now deciding to work... what were you waiting on? it to finish all by it's self??

I just want to kick someone square in the ***** whoever is running M-Dot because they don't do ****. They start more projects and never finish them. Hell it took them 6 years to do a 2 year project at the most (M-59 overpass between Dequindre and Old Vandyke). Let me call the shots....bet I would get **** done quicker. Please... if you are a construction project manager and read this... get your **** together and finish a project instead of opening 15 more before finishing the one your already doing...

LOL sounds a lot like the DFW area. **** never gets finished. Hell right here by my apartment they have had a couple of lanes closed for a few months and I cant even tell that they have done anything with the road and not to mention that it didnt even need anything done to it.

i like when they work on the highways, because they put up the concrete barriers to block the median so cops cant sit there

const.

in the state of michigans defense the tempreture swings rip pavement apart. and you know it can be below freezing at night and be 85 degrees by 11:00. that destroys anything that expands and contracts.

Mdot had a choice to resurface I-75 10 years ago and they choose not to. I-75 between the old tiger stadium and 14 mile is ruined. it was so bad that they ended up closing it for a year the north bound lanes and rerouted 2 of the south bound lanes for north bound. They are still removing the concerte. It was to the point that I-75 was a joke. Watching people changing there tires from hitting the same pot holes everyday was dangerous. I bet I go down there right now and there will be 5 people at a time changing there tires with the doughnut.

I don't see why they don't just have two teams work the same street and get it done faster. Instead they seem to spread everyone so thin around everywhere, that nothing gets done....

I drive the lodge every single day to Wayne State, they are planning on working on it in 2006 and 2007, and they are already working on it at Lahser in Southfield. I hope I'll get to live here when things get real bad.

I think every time we've gone through MI on our way to FL there has been construction almost everywhere you look...especially on the I-75. The funny part is the roads don't seem to change much at all each time we've gone through...I guess someone likes wasting money and backing up traffic .

EDIT:
Come to think of it the last time we were in Flint there were a large number of roads torn up as well...can't remember the exact area but the traffic backups were a nitemare.

It took me an hour an a half to get work yesterday morning. I ususally take rochester rd down to south blvd then over to john r and down. Well now that they are working on Rochester and Tienken thats a mess. At least they are finally done with Stephenson Hwy...hopefully. And yea they will always be working on 75. They just finished redoing the stretch from 94 to 12 mile which is where i work.
