Converted?? Um, I think the Cobalt pushed me in the other direction. here's my list:
87 Buick Sunbird "T" type
91 Buick Skylark, 6 cyl.
99 Cav Z24, CAI, Koni, Eibach, sway bars
04 Cav LS sport, Ram air hood (that's all I got to in 4 months before being totaled)
NOW - 05 Mazda 6s Grand Touring

Humm, all US except for the last one. I knew this time was comming, been looking at IS300, BMW 325. So I thought I would eventually move away from GM, since they don't make a model IMO that even comes close to the other two. The cobalt pushed me in this direction quicker because it was the third time I got screwed by Chevy (#1 waiting 10 weeks for a 99 Cav, #2 blown engine because of design flaw but not recalled, #3 waiting 7 months for a Cobalt). BUT even through it all I'm still a Chevy man.

I had a 2000 Eclipse GT, a 90 Eagle Talon TSI FWD, and a 89 240sx before this. Turned in the eclipse, sold the 240 and am in the process of selling the Talon. The women and I replaced them with a Envoy Denali and the Cobalt SS this month.

currently driving a 98 escort zx2. nothing flashy, but gets good mileage and it's all paid off (best thing, no payment and cheap ins). had a 91 escort from my mom before that. i'm thinking of geting a ss/sc next summer when i'm done with college.

3)Geo Storm (Engine Blown)
4)86 Honda Accord(Barely ran, ever)
5)Olds Cutlass(bigger POS than Accord)
6)93 Toyota Corolla (ran like new 220,000mi, totaled)
7)93 Cavialer RS (Current)
8) 06 SS/SC Red, XM, Sunroof(Being built this week)

Started w/ a 2000 cavalier Z24, red (totaled by ignorant teen at intersection driving an SUV in Jan, 2005). Picked up a 2002 Lancer OZ rally, then bought an '05 Cobalt SS/SC yellow w/ yellow inserts, sideairbags and the wife drives my Lancer now (She had a '98 Kia Sephia, biggest POS I have ever driven)

Me Too!

When I first heard of the Cobalt SS, I read every story I could find online about it. Then 6 weeks ago saw one in the showroom at one of the local dealers. Had not seen one in person in town yet, lots of 2 dr coupes, in many trim levels but no SS/SC. So I stopped in, they plled it off the showrroom floor for a test drive, took it home that night. SO now selling my 03 SVT Focus that has been customized. Also have 85 F-250 and wife traded her cavi sport last Aug for a Extreme Blazer thats now dropped and customizing is in the works. Loved the Focus but nothing like the Cobalt SS/SC I drive daily. Can't wait for parts to be more readily available for upgrading the SS/SC........

Not a convert but the SS kept me in the GM family.

'91 sunbird -> 97 cavalier (hated) -> 96 camaro (totaled) -> 00 camaro (tranny died)

now have 05 ss/sc and love it more everyday.

'88 Mazda 323 --> '91 Formula --> '98 GTP --> '05 SS/SC

I was doing a job at Daytona Speedway as Speedweek was beginning when I took a break, peeked out on the track, and saw an SS/SC running side by side with Corvettes, Porches, and Ferrari's (qualifying for Rolex I think). Before then, I had only heard the name Cobalt a couple times but didn't really know anything about it. But I was obsessed with it ever since and had to get me one of my own.

1)1988.5 Iroc-Z with a 350 TPI - blew the motor...

2)1998 Cavalier Z-24 - RSM supercharged...blew many wiring harnesses including the DRLs and the fuel injecotrs due to a faulty PCM. Thanks RSM!!! Got most of my money out of it...

3)1998 Eclipse GSX - Currently what I am driving but looking to trade it in on an 06 SS/SC and get back into modding and racing on a GM platform again

Was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. With gas prices going up and filling the tank with premium at $45 a whack I decided to go small. I went with a Hyundai Elantra 4 door. I put a spoiler and 17" rims on it . It looked pretty good but it wasn't for me so I traded that off for a red 2005 LS with sport package and sunroof. I miss the GTP power but I love the regular and better gas mileage. I only wish I had the SS appearence in this car. Right now with gas prices what they are I'll just settle for the automatic and 145 horsepower.

'03 Neon -> '05 Cobalt SS. Most definitely a big upgrade. Actually everyone in my immediate family drives a chrysler group vehicle and our local dodge dealership always treats us like family. I was actually in the market for a srt-4 but chevy had a vehicle that imo, is just as good and at a much better price. No-brainer.

I used to drive a 97 S10, Single Cab, 2.2L Hampster Speed I-4, 5 speed. It was a good truck but my Cobalt is a thousand times better.
