Cooling question

When do the radiator fans come on?

I have no cooling mods.
Last night after work, I started my car,
then was talking to a guy for a while,
letting my car just idle. Might have been 20 minutes or so?
Then just before I drove off, I noticed that my IAT2 temp
was 150! Outside temp at the time was about 85F
I checked my DIC and it said 215.

I started to drive home and then the tempauters returned
to their normal values.
AC was off the whole time.

That sounds about right, it'd probably turn on around 220-230

the car should run no cooler than 180*F on average, but it's normal to expect it to get as hot as 210-220* when idling for long periods. Fans should kick on well before the cel is thrown.

your ait2 was that high because there wasnt any air moving through the intercooler for a long time. the coolant inside slowly raised its temp to how hot your supercharger was. what u have to worry about while your car is idleing is your coolant temp. the engine isnt under load, so the car isnt going to suddntly blow up for high ait2. i live in the desert where its 115 all afternoon. i can only imagine how hot my ait2's are. but my coolant only gets up to 190 195 while its idleing.
