Cruise control?
Cruise control?
Hey guys,
A girl I work with wants to have cruise control on her 2007 2.2L base model (LS?). She was quoted something like $1,500 from the dealership, which I'm thinking is bullshit. Most other cars with cruise options these days involve a simple steering wheel swap, with plug-and-play capability...
Is the dealership trying to screw her, or is it really harder than I'm thinking to get cruise on a 'Balt?
Thanks.

Can't answer for the dealership....but there are threads where people have been able to get cruise working by installing the steering wheel with the cruise buttons and then having the ECM "flashed" with data from a VIN number car that had the same options as their's plus cruise -- to get the cruise enabled/working. I believe the only problem they had by doing this was the cruise light didn't work.
I had my dealer install cruise when I bought my LT. Didn't swap the steering wheel, just added a little pod thingy to it. The DIC flashes "cruise engaged" when it's turned on, but it doesn't stay up there. I don't know what it cost me since it was added in the bargaining price.
