Cruise Control??

I was just wondering if anyone has ran into this issue with there cruise control. I left for work this morning and it was pouring, got out on the highway and tried to put the cruise on and I seen "CRUISE ENGAGED" momentarly on the DIC. It went off just as fast as it came on but the cruise wouldnt engage. When I got off work it was sunny and dry, cruise worked fine?

I dont know much about what controls the cruise control, maybe a sensor or something? I though maybe the downpour might have effected it. Opinions?

Oh, it a 2006 SS/SC

Usually thats an invisible code set in the DIC from pressing the clutch in a certain amount of times without shifting gears (usually in heavy traffic) it's a useless feature. It usually doesn't start working again though.

Do you rest your foot on the clutch pedal when driving? If it clicks the sensor in the clutch pedal it wont let cruise activate, same with a bad TPS or brake pedal sensor.

Resetting your battery will eliminate the code if it happens again.

Thanks Joel, your post got me thinking. I took my 18 year old daughter out sunday afternoon to teach her how to drive a 5 speed. It was, well an advenure, maybe this had something to do with it? I had her take the car staight to the garage after about 45 minutes of bucking, stalling and burning tires and never tried the cruise till this morning.

Look at the fuse under the hood labeled exhaust.

Probably just another fine example of GM build quality. When it pours out the interior light go on in my Trailblazer and it says my driver door is open. Gotta love that GM attention to detail.

Poor car haha. I know how that is though I'm trying to teach my GF how to drive mine. If it doesn't come back I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again. And if it does, reset your battery and go from there.

This has nothing to do with this post because this seems legit, HOWEVER I'd hate to have the job of the customer service rep that trolls this forum and reads our bullshit threads about a problem we caused and then blame on GM build quality and have to reply with sympathy.

This sounds as annoying as my cruise problem, I had to replace the cruise set button... And the annoying part was that I was only 300km into a 1600km trip haha.
