CV Axle Shaft Seal

Hello, I am new to these forums and was wondering if someone can shed some light on a situation i am having.

I own a 2007 Cobalt SS 4 door. My mechanic informed me that one of my axle shaft seals was leaking. I haden't had 1 drop of tranny fluid leak onto the ground but he lifted it up and showed me the damp area.

I had the seal replaced and then afterwords I noticed 1 or 2 drops would leak onto the driveway whenever i would drive the car and then put it in park. I brought it back and the mechanic showed me that the seal was dry and not leaking but it was a little damp in and around the frame which he believes is just seepage from the tranny fluid he drained out the first time when he opened up the seal to do the repair hence my issue and that it should stop after some time.

Does this make any sence? has anyone else had a similar expierience?

that makes perfect sense. if he showed you the area and its dry its likely residual oil that spilled. techs do the best they can to clean it up but sometimes it gets into places you cant clean. if you feel inclinedgrab a garden hose and get down there and spray the frame area you saw had oil on it with a good amount of water, itll help clean it out.

Your axle's input shaft is probably worn. I replaced the seal on my car and it still leaks. So instead of replacing the axle that is still functional, I just top off the trans fluid when I do an oil change.
