Denied GMS on SS...what to do?
Denied GMS on SS...what to do?
So there are 31 SS S/C's in Arizona. I could drive to any one of them. Out of those 31 ONE has the G85 Performance Package and Sunroof. It is also the only one that this dealership has. They will not give it up for GMS pricing. I am emailing them now asking why, but they want to sell above sticker.
What should I do? Can another dealership with like 5 Cobalts send them one of theirs for a trade so that I can get the GMS price for the lone one at the other dealership? This is really annoying and frustrating for having waited this long for a Cobalt and be denied the GMS pricing. I just got the coupon from my friend right before the employee pricing for everybody event. Should I call GM? GRRR....

Call Chevrolet Customer Service. It is my understanding that a dealer has a choice to opt in or out of the GMS for Everyone program, but once in must offer it for every eligible vehicle. This is not usual. What is usual is a dealer can pick what vehicle can go for GMS. Another difference is if you have GMCard 5% points. These can be included in the deal, where normally only the points earned on the GMCard 1% can be used. There is a reason the Corvette has been excluded from the GMS for Everyone program. Although I believe I am right, and my study of the info on the GM website supports my belief, please get back if Chevrolet Customer Service says otherwise. -- laborsmith
GMS for Everyone
For info on current offers call 1-800-950-2438
Also: chevy.com may have the specific information
I recall reading on one of the GM sites.
I'm from Metro Detroit where news reports say 60% of
vehicles were already delivered on employee plans
before the GMS for Everyone came into being. So we
here are pretty used to the concept.

The dealer tried to pull the no GMS thing on me. I said thank you have a nice day and got up like I was going to leave, they stopped me and ended up giving me the car at GMS. Anyway go in the dealer and talk to them about it. If they know you're serious they'll work with you, you just have to haggle a little bit.

Denied GMS
Ken Fichtner on the Corvette Forum has posted a link to the specific memo sent to the dealers regarding the June 1 GMS for Everyone Plan. Type in Corvette Forums in your search engine, make your selection, then select Ken's Weekly Newsletter from the drop down menu, then select the June 1 titled thread, and you will find the hyperlink to the memorandum. As with all GM Incentive Memos, it is detailed and sometimes difficult to follow, but it clearly states once one car has been sold under the program all eligible vehicles must be sold under the program. Hope this helps. -- laborsmith

That's the thing with dealers, you have to be willing to get up and walk out at any moment. I had gone to a local dealer about 2 weeks ago and I won't say their name.. cough...Paddock Chevrolet..cough... and I was absolutely serious about getting the SS and I heard the salesman saying to his sales manager on the phone that I wasn't serious. So I said thanks for your time.. got up.. went to another dealer.. West Herr Chevrolet and it was the most pleasant experience ever. Didn't have a black Cobalt SS on the lot but they found one for me in Pittsburgh and brought it back. That's garbage that they won't give you GMS pricing. I've seen GM TV commercials saying it's on all their vehicles. Go to another dealer who will take care of you and see if they can get the car you want from the crappy dealer.
hey vendian......go to chevy.com and fill otu all the info for the cobalt ss and where it says the everybody price...
print it out.
then find the dealers name on the website.....its under search for vehicle.
print that out
take it down there....tell them you talked to the regional rep show them the info. if they dont give it to you.
calmly say that you are gonna call her back on let them know what the dealer said. And its gonna grealty affect there credibility.
i know this cause my mom did it and the dealership has since not gotten one new cool car....i.ie vette and what not_______________________________________________ __________________________________________________
Plan B..get the vin go to a differnet dealer that is affiliated with them and they will get the car for you from a diff dealer.
i.e. Van gettign something from Brown and Brown
print it out.
