Do you know what this is?

Just took off my starter and found this inside. Any idea what happened and what I’m looking at? I’ve only had the car about a week.
The fly wheel
What I pulled out of the starter

you have a fidanza aluminum flywheel. looks like the bolts that hold the ring gear on have backed out (they should have threadlock on them) and broken off, rubbed the block and generally made a mess in there. the flywheel also looks like its been rubbing on the back of the block, that may be because a bolt head got jammed in somewhere or you may have other issues, like install error or excessive crankshaft endplay. you also seem to have a bunch of oil in there, might be the clutch slave leaking, might be a rear main seal.

looks like the trans is going to have to come out. id replace the flywheel with an oem or oem replacement. id be prepared to put a new clutch in as well.
