Okay, I'm getting really tired of winter to begin with, but to top it off, my freaking doors freeze shut like once a week!!! So annoying! It's usually only the driver's side door. I've tried parking the car in different spots, at different angles, backing in the spot...everything. For some reason the driver's side is the one that always freezes shut. There have been a couple times when both doors have been frozen shut, but mostly just one. Reeeeallllly starting to get old. I live on a college campus and have to walk like a mile to my parking lot, so bringing a cup full of hot water out isn't really an option. So when I walk a mile to my car in the cold and it's frozen shut and I have to walk back...I get kinda pissed! My first year on campus I had a different car and it never froze shut, soo...makes me think it's just the balt? Anyone else have this issue? Please tell me you do, because I'm starting to go nuts lol

Lol... ******* florida people. From what I hear its common. Mine has frozen shut once, but has frozen open like 20 times. What happens is when I open it, the mechanism freezes and the door wont latch shut.

Happens mostly in the cold, once or twice in the summer

i thought that was only me going crazy. i had to do that as well b4. my lock also freezes on my driver side and not my passanger side as well. so yes my door does freeze once in a while.

I seriously think it's just the balt tho. My roomie parks right beside me and none of her doors have EVER frozen shut!

yeah i think its common for rain and snow to follow down into the cracks and freeze due to the shape and contour

mine were froze shut for the first time ever yesterday..i had to pull so hard i thought the door handles were going to break off

take wd40 and spray it on all of the rubber weather seals around the door.

x2 on lubing the weatherstripping with silicone grease and take some wet spray lube to the door handles

GM Super Lube works wonders for the door handles

I have never had a frozen door issue

If you live in an area that gets freezing weather you have to winterize the car. Use silicone spray on the weather stripping and spray a little wd40 in the lock mechanism.

Never frozen, even after washing and driving out into -10*F weather. Dry the seals if they're wet, and silicone every few months as maintenance.

wd40.... i dunno about that.

personally here in alberta where we get "real winters" i use alcohol (industrial stuff like for brake lines) put it on generously on a cloth and rub the inside of the doors. It never freezes (even in -30 that we get here) and its not gonna harm the car the least one bit, nor is it flammable

PUSH on the door to break the ice, THEN pull... if it's really frozen solid you'll just rip the handle off it you yank on it with all your might. We had a week straight of 25 below and precipitation in the evening... my Z24 doors were frozen every morning. Damn parents get the garage!
