i heard that unbending a paperclip and sticking it into an open receptacle in your fusebox while the car is running gives a similar performance edge to the chip. and it won't cost you the 8 bucks to get the chip!

IDK about the non S/C cobalt... but those are unsafe for any car with F/I

What does the chip ACTUALLY do then? Would it just do nothing, help a little, or hurt the car?

it's basically a resistor soldered into a chip. sometimes they fool the computer into thinking the intake air is different temperatures and changes the injector fuel at different rates.

probably does nothing, probably could mess something up.
