Chip? No.

HP Tuners. Yes.

Closest thing to a "chip" is the JET piggyback ECU module.

If you have an experienced cobalt HPtuner near you they might be able to drive your car around for an hour then upload a program to your car in your driveway. Pay them what they ask. I'm sure someone on this site will help you out.

If you have to go to a shop and have it tuned...maybe 200-300 bucks. If you want to run it on the dyno and have it tuned, 300-400 bucks.

You have a 2.2, and nice rims by the way, but any engine mods yet? The net gain from a tune alone might be less than if you get an intake/header/exhaust first. Just food for thought.

But i was partly wrong, yes. Jet does make a piggyback ecu as stated above. I wouldn't call it a chip though...

Ahhh I see what you're saying. You wanna just plug something into your car and have it go faster. That's cool.

This is something you piggyback onto your ECU and is a very generic tune that probably consists of advancing your engine timing and dumping more fuel into the motor. If you want something that is going to actually make your car run and perform better take it to a shop that does dyno tuning and have them tune it on the dyno. For what those modules cost you can get a good custom tune and get your car dynoed...

I'm not sure if the Jet Chip modules work on the 2.2 yet. I have a Jet Chip stage 1 module on my 2.4 but there are posts about them not working on the 2.2 or 08 2.4 (both have different ECMs then the 06-07 2.4s).

They are listed on the Jet Chip Website but there have been problems with fitment on the 2.2s and 08 2.4 -- they are working the issues but are not providing any information yet.

The stage 1 is working nicely on my Cobalt -- got rid of the low-end lag.

Chips are a waste! Get a custom tune for the same amount as you are buying the chip for and you're car will love you for it. Like I said all the chips do is advance your timing tables and mass with your fuel maps. Get a custom tune that maximizes all the aspects of your motor...

opinions are like ********.......... we all know how that ends....... the OP is asking about a chip for the car, not your opinion on "chips"
