It kind of ridiculous seeing all these people tryin to scam there own friends. I mean how can you expect to buy a ss/sc for 17000 put 4 grand into it and still expect to get 16000back....i mean you never get back what you put into a car number one and as soon as your car rolls off the lot, it loses value...its like a scam...I see cars going for 16900 because there stage two lowered and some little odds and ends mods....i paid 11 for my NA have dropped 4 grand into it and i still wouldnt see any more then 8 come out of it most likely and i only have 45K miles...come on guy!

First person on the interwebs to ever bitch about his model of car actually holding blue book value.

Mods aside the SS/SC's that I have seen from my time in the industry have held resale value incredibly well for a GM econocar

Hey, that's how much the car is worth if someone is willing to pay it. It isn't really a scam because all the info is out there on blue book values and what after market parts do to a car's value.

It's the guy's dumb friends who buy the car that are to blame for their ignorance.

$2,410.16 to be exact (if you count the paint and tape used to do the badges ). Not to mention I realize the resale value of the car drops when I mod it but I choose to anyway. If you can't accept the consequences don't mod the car.

PS. Selling a used car for more than sticker price is different than selling a used car over priced

Seeing as I have already seen used '08 SS/TC's with 20k going for $15,995, I don't see how any SS/SC is worht more than $13,500 tops. Hell, I've seen '05s sell for under $10k very often these days.

Because you don't have 4k more or are a young kid who can't afford the insurance on an 09 performance vehicle.

i really hope you dont look at it that way. or you just dont have a grip on how much cost of living is.
from what you stated it sounds like you've never been out on your own before. Ignorance is bliss.

IMHO, if 4k makes that big of a difference, you're already pushing your budget too far. Like many on these forums, you should have bought a used Corsica instead of buying a Cobalt in the first place.

nope, it depend on who you sell the car to.

if i found a car that had everything i wanted to do to it already done , i wouldnt mind paying current blue book value plus the cost of the mods... to some extent i wouldn't expect to pay retail value on the mods, but maybe 50-75% depending on the situation. cause id end up spending the same if not more buying the car from a dealer then having to buy all the mods anyway, and if your not mechanically inclined they you have to pay to have things installed.

now if we are talking about a car with intake and rice pipe, then i would expect to pay below bluebook.

if were talking a fully built car, with real time and money put into it, wheels paint, tuning, real engine work, then i wouldnt mind paying above bluebook if that was what i was looking. If you dont like the pice than dont buy it, you cant fault someone for trying to get some of there money/time compensation back.

and of course if i was buying from a Stealership ,id expect way below bluebook, casue you know they remmed who ever traded the car in.lol
