Does this exist?
Ok so I finally had my car (05 pursuit, canadian G5) in to fix the infamous steering column rattling issue, and my mechanic told me that the part that would be put in would be identical to the one in there (GM part) and that it would probably have the same issues in another 100,000km. I think it was called the intermediate column (part in between the main column and the axle). Needless to say I didn't have it replaced.
So my question is... is there such thing as an aftermarket version of this part that would be reinforced better and would not wear out so fast. This would be a great opportunity for a vendor to make some money because it seems that almost everybody has this issue. The only other issue i've really had with the car is the crummy warped rotors, and i'm replacing them with the acdelco drilled and slotted ones as soon as the brakes need to be done. I want my car to be like new again!!!

I have had my steering shaft replaced for a similar issue at less than 1,000 Miles. Have not had any noises from it since. I have never heard of a aftermarket replacement. If the noise comes back after a few years, I would just not fix it again.
