So I've been having trouble opening my driver side door from the outside. Friday after work I couldnt get it open but I had no problem opening it from the inside. Well this morning I go out to my car and my ******* didn't shut my door all the way. So I get in and I go get gas before work and I couldnt open it from the inside. So I'm pissed I get gas and try to open it from the outside, doesnt work. Let me tell you how awesome I look getting in and out through my passenger door.


Anyone know how to fix this? kthx =)

 

Apparently a clip or something breaks easily inside the panel. I had the same problem but it randomly started working again.. lol it happened at the track too, there like "if you crash you know we are going to have to rip your door off!"

 

i has had problems like this before. usually in the hot weather. i can pull on the door handle but nothing will happen. i pulled so hard the first time this happened that i cracked that flimsy piece of plastic near the door jamb. now im afraid to pull hard on that handle.

if it gives me a problem ill just open it from the passenger side. the inside handle usually works. you can try that.

 

inside handle isnt working for me either. lol

 

I have the same problem in cold weather. I can hit lock and unlock over and over and sometimes I hear it click back into place and start working agian.

I did pull the door panel off once to try to see what the problem was but I know jack **** about the internals of our doors so I just put it back together.

I need to get mine fixed before it leaves me stuck agian lol.

 

yeah mine unlocks fine i have no idea wtf happened. but i feel like an idiot going in and out my passenger door lol

I'm still trying to figure out a fix myself. Mine randomly does it, then goes right back to working. Only the driver door. Felt like a tard trying to get out one day

you guy's need to remove those doors and straighten things out.. i would go nutz..

 

As I posted in the other thread about this problem, put your key in the lock and turn it back and forth. That will reset what ever the problem is. I have had this happen to me twice and this remedy worked both times.

just looking for a permanent fix

 

I have had this problem a few times, If you use your key to unlock your door, but don't unlock it all the way and pull the handle, it should open, does for me at least.

Yep. Mine did it for a few days straight, then goes back to working.

First time it happened, I went to shut the door and it just hit, and bounced back open..I was like WTF? So I shut it again, and it still bounced...so I held it shut, clicked lock and went away. When I came back it wouldn't open..grrreaaatt. Lol

Then it started working again an hour later. Without doing anything..it just worked.

UPDATE: It only does this when it RAINS. What the ****. I couldn't get it to shut this morning when I got to work, and now I'm expecting when I go to lunch that I won't be able to get it open.

 

What makes mine open when it does that is to quickly hit the lock down (the actual manual stem lock, not the unlock button), usually i can hear it click when it does it, and i can then pull it back up and open with either handle..

 

door latch actuator or binding latch? GM had a bad batch. my driver's side is new. it comes as an assembly

 

i had this problem last summer sometime....wouldn't open from inside or outside, tried putting the key in the lock and turning it, didnt help. hit the unlock button and lock buttons on my pod thing, still nothing.

Took it to the dealer, they ended up fixing something, no idea what, they didnt tell me and it's been fine ever since....i also haven't drove it since november though but hopefully it'll be okay now that they fixed whatever lol
