Driving Cross Country

So I'm getting ready to take the Balt on the longest drive of both of our lives. I'm going from Maryland to Washington in April and am wondering about suggestions for the trip. When I drove it to South Dakota it was fine minus all the chips in the hood and OMG the BUGS! Anyways, what do you all think about getting a bra for the trip out there and the trip back? That's all I would really use it for (long road trips). Any other suggestions to keep Kato ("my little yellow friend"--pink panther) lookin nice?

Do they even make bras for Cobalts yet? Those things used to be real popular but I don't think I've even seen one in 5 years.

But, yes, I'd get one to keep the rocks and stuff off.

When i went on my summer road trip, 7800 miles in 3 weeks, it was great. Make sure you have lots of music...... and if you have a friend that can come bring them, or even a dog. It gives you a reason to get out of the car and wander around for awhile lol

You can also get on ebay the 3M Clear Bra stuff, it works really well without the ugly bra on the front.

Where are you going to be staying at when you're in Washington?

The furthest east I've ever driven on I-90 was to Bozeman, MT before we headed south to Yellowstone. I don't know how far off of 90 you want to go but if I remember right it is only 1.5 hours or so from the freeway. Some incredible scenery out there.

But between there and here, there isn't much...hehe.

If you ever watched the show Northern Exposure, you can stop by Roslyn, which is where they filmed some of the show and where the Roslyn Cafe is (with the camel on the side of the building). That's only 20 minutes off the freeway or so.

Haha! There isn't much between Minneapolis and Seattle!
Lots of scenery not much in the way of cities.

Yellowstone is a ways south off I-90, in April it still may be snowed in!

I'm going out there for an internship. It's for my occupational therapy program and I wanted to check out a different state. So basically I'm paying tuition to drive cross country (just south of Seattle) pay for three months of housing and make no money while working 40 hrs. a week. lol and I'm looking soooo forward to it!!

Would the wax be impossible to take off after about a week of it on? And (this is prolly a dumb questions) but would painters tape mess up the paint? Like I said in a previous post I have some chips outta the hood from driving to South Dakota. Would it stick to that and take more of the paint off?

Cool! Sucks not making any money all that time though! UGH

The wax will come off on its own or when you giver er a good wash again.
The wax will allow bugs to not stick to the paint and prevent smaller pebbles from chiping as much. A bra would help for stones.

I thought the stones and dirt and bugs would get stuck in the wax and when you go to take it off would scratch the paint?

i woudlnt leave the wax on for that long, but you can always just wipe it off and reapply before driving again. painters tape wont mess it up, but might leave some residue that you can just wash off

Have you figured out where you are going to stay yet?

Could be hard to find a place for 3 months!
