Driving in the snow?

I have an '06 non -sc/tc. I hadn't planned on driving in the winter, but since snow may be coming this week I tried starting the blazer ( which I just dumped all kinds of cash into to get it ready for winter and just drove it 3 days ago), and it won't start. Probably fuel pump. Of course I can get it fixed, but not before the snow hits. Man am I pissed. I planned for this, and purposely got my blazer ready for winter and now it won't start.

Am I going to ruin an any spec of value this car may retain by driving in snow? I really hate to, but luck just isn't on my side. The previous owner did drive in the snow from time to time, but the car has super low miles, so it didn't see much.

I'm so pissed... I even wax the door jams...

It does have all season tires though. I guess we shall see.

Its not the snow you have to worry about,
Its the salt thats used to melt the snow.
The salt accelerats corrosion, so make sure you do a THROUGH wash
to include the underside of the car.

I dont know how intense the salt/chemicals are up there, but here in STL i no it can do damage, so it might be a hassle, but try to keep it as clean as you can.

Minimal to no value loss will occur by driving in the snow.

How exactly do you prove you've never driven your car in the snow?

I bought my 06 in late 05 and have driven nothing but it in the snow in michigan. 82000 miles later i have a rust on my steering shafts above the rack and that is all that I saw when I was under it today. There is some oxidation/minor pitting on the engine/trans case, but i think regular road grime would cause that.
If you decide not to drive it be sure to protect your expensive rotors from rusting while it sits

Cobalt to value is like water to a funnel.

I'm sure the car loses value if you just look at it wrong or breathe on it.

Buy winter tires.

"all season" tires are BS.

Excluding these, IMO

Any winter tire will be much better then your all seasons. Just wash it regularly and it will be fine, if your worried about resale you bought the wrong car.

A Carfax report wont tell if its been driven in the snow or not, but will tell where it was registered in the winter times.
IE: A Car registered in Hawaii, or Arizona will less likely (Though it is still possible) have never seen snow, then say a car registered in Wisconsin, or Michigan. I Know in Michigan, cars rust ALOT.

I think that rust is included from the factory...LOL, I have rust on the steering shaft and my car is a year old and has never seen snow or salt, and it has not a spot of rust anywhere else.

OH and BTW it is just a cobalt, drive it, I don't drive mine in the snow cause I have summer tires. If I had Snows I would take it skiing in a hart beat.

Kind of what I was thinking. My 06 came from Michigan/Ohio and while it's mostly rust-free, it's inevitable unless you live south of Missouri.

I drive mine in Michigan up to my cabin to go snowmobiling on P-Zero Rosso's.
I bought a cobalt because it is FWD. FWD goes through snow. Just punch it!

Cobalt and resale should be considered an oxymoron. And I will be driving on the Stock Contis this winter as well. But I live in AL
